Agree with an earlier post, if we go into administration, for managers it will be a bloodbath!! No golden handshakes either - minimum payoff... Will still need posties because any government administrator will be told to.protect the USO - no government will allow the country to be without a postal service - will be a monumental embarrassment!
Exactly. We will still have jobs, just with crap pay, terms and conditions. Which is exactly what RM are offering us now. So what do we have to lose?

Good deal or strikes. That's it.
If RM were to enter administration, they'd be able to rip up everyone's contracts so things like mandatory Sundays, annualised hours, commit to deliver, all delivery staff being able to drive, no allowances or paid breaks, etc (I'm sure that we could think of other stuff) could easily be brought in and there's nothing the union would be able to do
You're assuming that all the current players will still be in place if it came to administration - they wouldn't - the first thing the administrator would do is get rid of the board - not going to keep people in place who got us into this mess!

Surely the union would still have the collective bargaining rights for its members even in special administration. The administrators would have a duty to ensure the USO is met and if we were to strike regarding any imposed new contracts the administrators would have to negotiate with the union to get us back to work. 110 thousand vacancies couldn't be filled or even half that.

The union and myself want the business to succeed and grow and get back to providing the great service I have always been proud of supplying.

the whole thing is an absolute business and political nightmare
i've no understanding of the shares situation if they were to bankrupt the rmg part, but my shares are the same as the czech blokes apart from he owns 1 or 2 more than me,
big IF but if they did say sod it and hand over the uso side of it, what are the implications of it? who takes control of all the mail center/delivery office infrastructure and do the super hubs become assets to sell off, do vesa get to hang on to the bits they want at a knock down price?
they main worrying word in this fiasco is "tory" as we all know they will do absolutely anything for a fast buck
no matter what, this won't end well for us the working class

Depends on what they chose to do thing is this was not by our making but of those who chose this path for this business. If they truly seek peace then change your direction if you do not the path of a war you cannot win awaits you in the coming days!
