Re: What deal are you waiting for?
No sick pay changes why should people suffer in a physically demanding job in all weathers we deserve to be looked after,no commit to deliver or annualised hours this just has a massive impact on peoples lives and just steamrollers us towards a gig economy,i dont mind working a little later but not in the dark walking down some of the dodgy terrain and areas we deliver to is just not practical or safe,as for pay the 5.5% payrise for last year should be backdated, at least 10% this year for the cost of living and inflation and next years pay to be reviewed next January for April and i'd be happy with what inflation is at that time, anything else will not get my vote and im happy to carry on striking indefinitely, why should the worker suffer for the greed of management,we make the money we deserve a good portion of the pie,i can't believe what some people write on here and except they will always be at the bottom excepting crumbs from the table, come on guys have some dignity and respect for yourselves we deserve all of this above.

Add to that working in the dark, accidents on delivery are going to go through the roof.guardianangel wrote: ↑06 Apr 2023, 05:49No sick pay changes why should people suffer in a physically demanding job in all weathers we deserve to be looked after,no commit to deliver or annualised hours this just has a massive impact on peoples lives and just steamrollers us towards a gig economy,i dont mind working a little later but not in the dark walking down some of the dodgy terrain and areas we deliver to is just not practical or safe,as for pay the 5.5% payrise for last year should be backdated, at least 10% this year for the cost of living and inflation and next years pay to be reviewed next January for April and i'd be happy with what inflation is at that time, anything else will not get my vote and im happy to carry on striking indefinitely, why should the worker suffer for the greed of management,we make the money we deserve a good portion of the pie,i can't believe what some people write on here and except they will always be at the bottom excepting crumbs from the table, come on guys have some dignity and respect for yourselves we deserve all of this above.

In either a DO or a MC if someone injures themselves while on shift, one of the first questions that's going to be ask well two are:
"Did you use the equipment that you were meant to use?" and "Did you use that equipment correctly?" If the answer to either of them questions is no, it's going to be an instant blameworthy

Standard practice is you must use a LWT when delivering unless un practical for example block of flats. Other than that it is mandatory and if you were caught with a bag on your shoulder and subsequently went off sick with an injury that could be attributed to this way of working then there may be issues.

I work between two offices and there has never been any trollies for duties. We are single vans and you use bags, you just make sure they are not overweight. My brother works in a different office and there are no trollies there either. They are only mandatory if they were used when doing a revision based on using them.

Re: What deal are you waiting for?
What exactly do you think "overweight" is for your bags? There are only bag weights for flats and lightweight trollies.Neverwasadoor wrote: ↑06 Apr 2023, 09:50We are single vans and you use bags, you just make sure they are not overweight.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

I believe it's 8kg. I hardly ever use a bag as my round is worked so I deliver the large stuff on the way to my parking spot and the walk with bundle.

How can we ask for a vote when we do not know the full details yet .
The details released are just a snapshot of the agreement all the really nasty bits will be buried in the small print we do not know about yet .
