Its been over a year since April 2022 and our piss poor 2% (against 10% inflation) payrise. Its 2023/24 already. We need some money now.
Either accept the deal and give us our money or announce some strike dates. Stop wasting our time.
How much longer are we going to wait?
It was only announced a few hours ago, chill out.

As you say, pro rata, and BEFORE tax and NI are deducted.
But if it was put to a vote you'd have thousands voting for it, as they cannot see beyond the lump sum figure, a very clever tactic by RM that never seems to let them down, I am very sad to say.

I am very glad I have not been a part of this trade union for over 10 years. I knew that the union had no plan for the future and that the union representatives were people chosen by chance, favorites of the main headquarters. Seeing their faces every day and the hatred with which they look at me always puts me in a good mood.

I don't buckle to anyone, CWU or RM (but maybe the wife on occasion) lol. Pay Pay Pay, Although it helps to have a pay rise i am more concerned about the T&Cs and the health of the workforce.

Re: CWU either accept deal or strike. Stop wasting our time
If we go on strike we will get NO public support. RM will say we turned down a 10% rise & £1500 lump sum, they will not give out any details, we will just be branded as greedy & lazy.
Message to union "put this to a vote, if we vote for it you win, if we reject it you win & we strrike" but if you do nothing you lose & we lose. Think carefuly

At this point I wouldn't put it past RM to place the firm into administration just so that they could rip up all our contracts

I think the deal is a bit less bad than what’s been offered before. To be honest keeping the allowances is progress and if they want to change new starters T&Cs that’s unfortunately part of every organisation these days.
I’m in the same boat now -having left Royal Mail- working in the NHS a “one-off lump sum” has been offered £1700 before deductions and 5pc for this year.
No one believes inflation will come down this quickly hence why I have voted NO on the nhs pay deal and so have my work colleagues !
