Re: Where's the news coverage
If Royal Mail goes into administration it doesn't mean IDS is affected perse. Maybe that is why the stock market doesn't care.

Re: Where's the news coverage
If Royal Mail was taken back under state control the government will appoint an administrator to run the company as a going concern. They would kick out the CEO and board of Directors either temporary or permanent.
That will be bad news with current contracts of employment as the administrator will concentrate on the survival of the business until stabilized and past to a new governing body.

We are being played
The only question for me still is if its by Royal Mail alone or Royal Mail and the CWU jointly

If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

It does seem we are been softened up for a poor deal.Acca Dacca wrote: ↑27 Mar 2023, 20:37We are being played

Latest revisions will stay, will probably get an okish pay increase but will lose out on sick pay and other stuff.
The union will say it’s the best we can do considering the company’s financial situation.

Or they would and should audit the company and see that the expense is in a failing management.redlen wrote: ↑27 Mar 2023, 20:37If Royal Mail was taken back under state control the government will appoint an administrator to run the company as a going concern. Delivery is a cost that has to be factored.

Have no doubt any appointed administrator will instigate an immediate major cost cutting frenzy from all parts of the business. And considering Royal Mails greatest cost negative is in its wage bill, you do not need to be Einstein to work that one out.

More doom , gloom and despondency. Say something positive that is based in fact not just your barrack room lawyers opinion.redlen wrote: ↑27 Mar 2023, 19:53Maybe if the CWU took its demands with suspended and dismissed reps out of the talks who have their own disciplinary process, agreement on the actual cause of the complaint and dispute can be made. It is no more than Russian roulette now on the very survival and peoples livelihoods

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Maybe now it’s on Twitter the government might actually have to do something. No doubt the staff will be blamed for been greedy and not the incompetence of the management.

Administration and getting taken back over by the government might be the best thing that can happen in the longterm.

Who's suggesting we'll be taken over by the Government, more than likely they'll sell/pass is on to the likes of Amazon, as they've just done with Bulb, then we'll realise just what a good company RM were to work for and DW will see all his union members disappear overnight.
