Are we comparing people who choose to work with neo Nazis now. This place is insane sometimes 😂
No. He was comparing how we treat people who have different and opposing political views. I don't agree with him but not speaking to someone because of their views is a personal choice, just as breaking a strike is, or holding extreme views. Even with strikebreakers, I prefer to try and educate or inform them of why I think they are wrong, and sometimes it causes friction with CWU members who did strike.

awwwww diddums my heart breaks for the SCAB ! We have sly strike breakers in our place but people still laugh and joke with them , call me old fashioned but fook that i would rather be sacked than to speak to them !
Then rather than come on here and call them names, why don't you call them names to their faces and fulfil your wish of being sacked?
NOBODY can make me speak to a scab !
Thought the word s--b was banned on this site.??
We would rather the term not be used and we have explained why, but in this case, as it's not aimed at any person in particular and given the context of the thread and though I think still inadvisable, it kisses the line, but does not quite cross it.

Crossing the picket will have far reaching consequences beyond the immediate, you lose your mates if you have any, no one will swap shifts or holiday with you, the CWU can choose to withdraw membership and refuse to represent you in a disclipnary interview, you don't have to do name calling or bullying, just don't associate with a strike breaker, I personally would be saddened if a friend crossed the line and it wouldn't be the same afterward.

Not sure the CWU can withdraw membership or refuse to represent you. In fact, I've known reps cross lines before.

Well lets face it you and I make a sacrifice and someone says f**k you all I am all right jack it would seem as a betrayal of one's friendship at least and at worst treasonable offence to those in the union!

That would be bad if a rep crossed a line, do as I say not as I do.

Membership is optional I believe.

There are people here saying a strike breaker is wrong! How do you know they are wrong? When was the last time we had strikes?

How can the success of our current strikes be measured? Many of those hard-core are so convinced about this sort of group action even though history has shown us that the many can sometimes be wrong.

As for educating the strike breakers what about you listening to them and being educated on their point of view; you will be surprised that it is not just about money or this absurd pack mentality.

No one can make anyone speak to a strike breaker but I can assure you that if you work in my office, you will not have a choice and you hatred will dissipate over a short period of time. You will likely get sacked if you dare make such a hatred known about one of ours! And no one or the CWU will support you!

Some are not even in the Union and don't care! We have colleagues that can easily defend themselves and can find a way out regardless what the job or colleagues throw at them.

That's all well and good, admirable perhaps. But do bear in mind that some of us remember only too well the early eighties and despise Thatcher no less now than we did then. It's not something we can simply move on from as some would suggest.

Well it is your office that will expedite RM's plan why bother being in a union it is the sentiment hopefully those people "We have colleagues that can easily defend themselves and can find a way out regardless" will not lean on you so they can save time! what a nice working environment toxic is the word!

So educate me. Why would you choose to cross a picket line if its not about the money??
