Agreed. But the spin machines on both sides are in full flow now so unfortunately we can no longer believe anything. Did anyone really think we were going to get a no strings 7% pay rise? I like you and others who've been around a bit assumed it was the opening gambit of a pay negotiation. If Terry really thinks we can get it he is going to have to play the blinder of his life and will become a cult union hero for years to come. If he doesn't think it's possible now is probably the time to dial down the rhetoric or he is liable to make himself look rather foolish.

for once the cwu as done right, whilst not knowing or publishing the "strings attached" it has informed us of their intentions to manipulate the workforce

This isn't "information", it's misinformation designed to scare you into accepting any old shite that comes along.
it's designed by rm to target the 1000s who maybe happy at any pay rise at all, create a split, offer a lump sum to sacrifice any regular benefits and to let us think we've done well

I'm not sure releasing the details of this offer was a good idea, it seems people are seeing ghosts everywhere and speculating about nonsense.

A no strings pay rise in line with inflation was what Terry promised us.

That's what I'm prepared to accept.
Thats it most people on here are actually falling for royalmails deal and discussing it all we should be getting is a straight forward rise its not that complicated they made massive profits.

we are just sheep that follow the heard, managers shake your hand and piss in your pocket, blind leading the blind, keep you in the dark and feed you s**t (mushroom treatment) and the arse dosent know what the elbows doing !! enough cliches ? sorry but i'm having a "moment" most delivery staff i know have incredible resilience and provide the best service they can and enjoy the odd rapport with customers, but dont chat too long or the PDA "actuals" dot will get you even if you dont take your breaks. Fool i am but i havent taken a break this working year so far, but rather clear the frame when i can than do it next day, or sit in the shitty van for 20 mins and book £4.00 docket, by then i just want to get home ! only two years to go yaaaaaaaaaaaaay :nana sorry for rant, love to all

Why an all out strike? We are playing into their hands, they won't have to pay any wages, why can't we work to rule with an overtime ban? That way they will still have to pay us our basic wage but it won't be long before the place is in chaos :nana
Agreed max49
Start and finish on time. Take your breaks, don’t take lapsing or overtime / Excess, bring back what you can’t finish including tracked. DO’s will back up big time. And with no staff being recruited RM will have to sit up and take note

i questioned this yesterday, unfortunately a large % of posties are part time, and (wrong in my opinion) took the job relying on overtime, i also know of many full time who MUST have overtime too to live, for me, they are in the wrong job, but we are where we are
end of the day we all must be able to live on a basic wage we were employed on at the offset, without overtime but many others will disagree

anyone who is fooled by a lump sum needs to have their head examined. Please realise how much RM seem to want to take from the workforce

The union are going to really box clever with this, Royal Mail are putting it out that they h ave offered 5.5% . People will think posties being greedy for knocking it back but don’t know about all the strings attached. Think the union need to up there p.r. game to let the public know the truth

work to rule with no overtime ban for part timers who need the overtime to make a wage on shitty contracts ? if we are being paid basic wage then surely they should be allowed to earn a living. as they have been hoodwinked into thinking they had a secure job. people have bills, family, and a life to live. lets all get up about 9.30 have smoked kippers and read the financial times like a true shareholder.

Don’t know about the rest of you but I’m way past caring what the public think of us. The fake smiles and cute rainbow signs ultimately counted for nothing when their hair straighteners were delayed by a day.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

The only lump sum that I would be interested in at this point is VR.

Here we go RM/CWU cliche alert No:3

Everytime a possible issue/dispute comes along we have to watch what the 'public' think just in case...so they can use that against us.

To hell with anyone else

@derekm - just making a point not at you but that point in general - i come across as aggressive in that post !

well that open letter put out by RMs 'reward & performance director' Adrian Porter is more or less calling the union 'liars', saying they havent shared ANY details on pay. wonder if Martin Walsh would comment on it?
