Distinctly remember phrases during the dispute like "not pulling the drawbridge up on the next generation" and "a two tier work force is a red line we won't cross".
Now the chickens are coming home to roost, it was so obviously going to play out like this, alienating a massive part of the workforce. Don't understand it one bit.

desperate , it makes you laugh wanting new members to join so they can get them better contracts but didnt the cwu agree with the company over this on there last ground breaking deal ? , which also gave them some of our t&cs back
, so no wonder they have lost members and i reckon there will be more if some of these trails come in

What Union in their right f$£%%^ mind would facilitate one worker to be paid more than another?

I would still argue it is in new starters own interests to join the union. Not sure how anyone could sensibly argue that letting the union slowly die out would be good for the workforce.

This pisspoor offer to workers on inferior t's and C's won't plug the gap. The CWU currently has just under 72,000 members.
