I do like your posts, George. You can't fail but put old guard, old school etc in all your posts. Are you ageist by any chance? One things for sure fella, one day, if you are lucky you will be 'old' too.
I'm waiting for someone to complain they got piss wet through, expecting him to say the old guard are allowed to stay in when it rains whilst newbies do their work :chuckle

My office has gone 15 mins later and the mail arrival time has not changed.
Still got people in on overtime when it's not required.
Totally pointless.
The move to later start/finish times had absolutely nothing to do with moving the mail around, not using planes etc etc. If you go back a couple of years the excuse was because big customers (businesses sending stuff) wanted to encourage people to order up until midnight and RM needed that work delivered within the core route. Now you don’t even hear that as a reason. Nope this move is all about vindictiveness and a push to force staff out of the business. If only RM put half as much effort into running the business as they do hating, bullying and trying to force staff out then they would have a hell of a good company. Unfortunately their focus is one purely based on hatred, really must be a one off company this!!

The network changes don't kick in until June. That's when the arrival times into DOs will change

We've been told once the new start times commence the present LATs duty will go, whether it does or not only time will tell.

Anyone else finding all the mail and parcels from the first wave at least are in the office when they start? Be interesting to see if mail is arriving later now or broadly at the same time as before…

The big test will be the final "late" arrivals into MCs which currently are not to heavy, in the autumn when they are heavy and maybe 90 yorks off a double stacker. I can see final dispatches to DOs having to be put back later in the autumn. That might make the wave 1 dispatches later if it causes a problem with the driving hours of the distribution staff

I've heard plenty of FT are being asked to come in early lately, almost at the old times, which suggests workload has already arrived in the unit. For context, with seasonal variation in effect the FT start is 0912 tomorrow :evil/mad

We have early sorters in every morning which makes a mockery of later starts.

Same, plus the earliest starters arrive even before the ones that are being paid to be there so the mail is obviously there so what's the point especially now it's getting a bit bloody hot.

Most of us " old guard " don't give a monkeys George. All of our moaners are the Avant Guarde new starters, they are definitely not as happy with their lot as you appear to be.
They wait a month to find out that their wages are incorrect, no OT payments made and a farcical debate with the Gaffer and HR over responsibility, accountability. Days off ? Well they don't know but definitely not a Sunday. Cover/Training...none of that. Election material under all their frames as yet untouched. They appear only to be able to deliver tracked parcels using a route planner.

None of that is their fault. But happy, I don't think so
