Re: Seasonal Variation - 24mins vs 10mins
I'm on different hours to everyone in the office and fall between the cracks. My boss has no idea and awarded me the 24 mins. I put up with that for just two days, and took the time back. I am now on the 10 mins, but again it doesn't seem right when compared to the people on less hours than myself.
This company is crap.

Re: Seasonal Variation - 24mins vs 10mins
If you work less than 35 hours per week you are regarded as part time. So therefore you start 10 minutes early not 24 minutes early. The seasonal hours are worked off how many hours you are contracted for each week not each day!

Re: Seasonal Variation - 24mins vs 10mins
Anyone else have the problem caused by PT and FT now being 14 minutes out-of-sync? Full-timers gone by the time part-timers get through their miss-sorts (including tracked) and/or bulk items for drivers?

If you mean finish times, then everyone should finish at the same time.

Yes, I know (if this is what you mean) that our finish times are unchanged from before. That's not what I asked about.
Some miss-sorts and bulk items that part-timers find while prepping their walk, are not getting to full-timers who might have already left because they now have a 14 minute head-start over part-timers.
I know it might be the least of our worries considering everything else, but still curious!

With my office that was happening even before the seasonal hours, even more ridiculous since as you say means they are going out on delivery even earlier now.gnuru wrote: ↑17 Sep 2023, 19:12Yes, I know (if this is what you mean) that our finish times are unchanged from before. Presumably there's no chance of management getting the part timers duties prepped a bit by the full timers.Shadedpostie wrote: ↑17 Sep 2023, 23:39With my office that was happening even before the seasonal hours, even more ridiculous since as you say means they are going out on delivery even earlier now.gnuru wrote: ↑17 Sep 2023, 19:12Yes, I know (if this is what you mean) that our finish times are unchanged from before. Re: Seasonal Variation - 24mins vs 10mins
It will be just as interesting for those on 4 day etc duties when seasonal hours go the other way and part timers are in 10 minutes later compared to 24 minutes later, in effect they will be starting 14 minutes earlier than FT.
Layer upon layer upon layer of confusion, bullsh1t and ridiculousness.

The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

Sounds like it would have been easier if everyone both FT and PT were to start the same amount of time earlier each day

Re: Seasonal Variation - 24mins vs 10mins
Or keep amounts the same, but everyone starts 24 minutes earlier? Meaning part-timers finish 14 minutes earlier than they normally do? Except in summer, when er ... you know what .. should be simple, but can't work it out!SpacePhoenix wrote: ↑18 Sep 2023, 09:31Sounds like it would have been easier if everyone both FT and PT were to start the same amount of time earlier each day

Re: Seasonal Variation - 24mins vs 10mins
At our D O full timers start 24 minutes earlier, part timers 10 minutes early. Seems to work as everyone finishes at the same time. Can’t see what the problem is.

Re: Seasonal Variation - 24mins vs 10mins
Yes FT staff should be given more work but at the moment there isn't any, the lorry doesn't get to the office any earlier so the earlier start is pointless at the moment. It's almost as if RM didnt think this through

Re: Seasonal Variation - 24mins vs 10mins
We do the same, no problems. Obviously some walks are struggling as before but the workload seems to have increased quite a bit just as the seasonal hours came in. I'm confused by some comments. Why would fulltimers wait 14 mins before going out or be given extra work? I'm fulltime so prep until my parttime colleague arrives and then we both finish prep and bag up together. I'm no fan of the seasonal hours thing but the way it works, just works ? Actually come to think of it I suppose fulltimers are doing extra work, the extra 24 mins at the start is used for IPS packet sorting etc that many wouldn't normally do
