Occam's razor.
The simplest solution is usually the best.
The money in the escrow is more than enough to pay both lump sums.
Why not wait until that's free to pay both lump sums?

You do like your quotations Woody and that's a very obscure one.Woody Guthrie wrote: ↑03 Aug 2023, 06:06Occam's razor.

I think the lump sum push back is to make sure they get what they want before releasing it.
And they aren't "Bending" the rules they are most certainly breaking them.
As i said before, i would have had some of these grey areas sorted before the vote and etched in stone so that there was no misunderstandings.
But we are where we are and now it's up to the union to try to bring them to heel with what little sway they have left.
I don't hold out much hope.

In my opinion the excess money should have been put into a fund or AVC for individuals who actually contributed to said pension fund.

Give us the money now. There is no valid reason for keeping us waiting until September 29th.

Wouldn't worry about these bully boy managers they have no backbone to stand up to There managers. And they will be out the door once they've been use and abused.

£500 LUMP SUM
The one-off £500 lump sum will be paid to members in Royal Mail, PFW and support functions (excluding PFSL and Fleet) on Friday 29 September.
£900 LUMP SUM (minimum)
In addition, the one-off lump sum payment of at least £900 will be paid on Friday 29 September.
The exact amount will depend on the precise number of employees at the time of the payment but will be at least £900 per employee. This payment will also be received by Fleet and PFSL members.
This means a total lump sum payment of at least £1,400 will be paid on Friday 29 September (pro-rated for part-time employees)
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
All the payments set out above will only be paid to employees in post on the 4th August 2023.

Re: why 29th september for lump sum ?
The info posted is from an LTB from the union.
We know RM are inclined to break agreements.
So if HR are saying in post on payment date I would be taking their word for it.

It's not just the union saying it, everyone is including Zareena Brown who's kind of the big deal at HR...
