So if on a stage does it extend by 6 months or a year, for example if you were due to be clear next month would you be clear by next February (6 months) or would it now be next august (a year)

6 months.
It's actually a return to the old system.
Attendance reviews or stages as they used to be called previously lasted 12 months.
The trigger for a stage 2 was a little different then.
It was 2 absences or 10 days in any rolling six month period during the next 12 months which was confusing as hell.

This is a flat 3 absences or 12 days which is potentially a little
harsher but also clearer.

I know it's going back to a previous system Woody but extending peoples stage 1 or 2 another 6 months is a pretty shitty thing to do,and it wouldnt be beyond the company to sort something for those currently on a stage

I think it is a pretty poor thing to do with existing stages.
They should have kicked everyone back a stage, that would have been the simplest solution.

To be fair I don't think it will stick at a consideration for dismissal, it's probably too risky at a tribunal to change the process half way through.

It is bordering on illegal. You sign a letter given to you by your manager which details 6 months and then the company arbitrarily extends this by a further 6 months. It is disgusting and completely contrary to the agreement, specifically paragraph 6.4.
