The good ones will do their best to keep up and rush round so they can finish on time and pick their kids up from school
They took the job for the same reasons as us, for the hours
The agency that they had that did parcels later have all been finished, they were doing a fraction of the work that the regular posties did in the same time
One of them got sacked because he was delivering for Uber eats while supposedly delivering parcels you couldn’t make it up
The good ones want a permanent job here but not on the terms they’re offering so they’re sticking it out as they are and as one of them put it to me at least they can book a holiday for whenever they want
"The good ones will do their best to keep up and rush round so they can finish on time and pick their kids up from school"
Is this not a bad thing to do? Rush around.
The recent dispute was the first phase of the plan. The USO was never going to happen at this point of the parliamentary timetable/cycle RM new this, but got the debate started. However the next time with the union now seemingly on board will be a more concerted attempt to do so probably in the early part of the next parliamentary government after the elections.
The next part of the plan will.also be pushed- to frameless, introducing the Dutch method of depot pre sorted pick ups. This will be achieved once the new parcel delivery network/pipeline has been established. The new pipeline will allow existing MC's machines spare capacities to pre sort letters and small packets & Flats into walks, in time, thus reducing sort time significantly and removing the requirement for frames. The required estate to fulfilling the pipeline and network will be substantially reduced and excess property sold off for cash..or leasing stopped..
The business will expect little resistance from the union and its members given the perceived failure by the membership to achieve any significant gains from the current dispute.
All the indicators from the current negotiations , statements and agreements show the timetable.....that is the masterplan and phase one is nearly complete in that the removal of an effective union that supports and.protects its membership, rather than the CWU looking after the CWU....is currently now in place.

Have they not been asking to get rid of uso last few years.

The tech has been around for a few years now that can sort flats and letters together. RM hasn't bought any to date and I can't see them spedning the money on them now
