It is obvious Royal Mail made demands that have been begrudgingly agreed by the CWU that have not been made public.

Even though just my own opinion things like withdrawing full time release for its reps unless you agree to this and that.

I agree with some of the comments on hear regarding the union securing their place in the workplace i also agree that royal mail do not want an agreement why would they the changes they wanted are already happening the union are telling us members that is the best deal they can get i also believe that so the choice we have in my eyes is take the money with change or except the change without any money do people think if we vote no royal mail will cave in because they do not want to upset the workforce or they could put the uso part of the business into administration putting some jobs at risk i know some people on this forum would welcome this option.

Why would the CWU seek agreement as Royal Mail were just imposing the changes by executive action anyway, even during the dispute changes were being implemented?

They made their position perfectly clear in these negotiations/

All the CWU have secured are the crumbs left over for the employees..

That's a bit of a turnaround for you isn't it? Or just another way to kick the union? Still, imo you have surmised correctly.

To some on this thread saying it does not mean you have to work harder, citing just do your job and finish on time. Well that's all very well until you realise that this agreement specifically makes it clear that performance standards will be changing.
You will not be able to work to your current standards unless that happens to match what they want you to do. If current standards were good enough then that would not be in the deal. So by definition people, will be expected to work harder. If not they will ultimately show you the door.

Bottom line is RM are still continuing to deliberately destroy the letters side of the business, nothing has changed since they announced they had reached an agreement, if anything its got worse. They have driven the workforce into a 'i don't care anymore' mindset, its incredibly sad.

Having read the agreement I think deliveries will definitely spending more time outdoors and in my opinion outdoor work is harder work than doing indoor on IPS.

I think there’s a good chance of this agreement with get voted down and unsurprisingly it appears the CWU executive have not even considered this as a possibility.

I’m not trying to persuade anyone to vote a particular way I’m just stating my own opinion and I will accept the outcome whichever way it goes.

It just seems curious as to why the CWU are actively pushing the agreement when I think it would have been more sensible from the CWU perspective to portray the employer as walking away with this as their final offer.

I've been loaned out several times to different delivery offices - five so far. I have never heard that the walks are going to get smaller. Quite the opposite. It's always "three walks are being removed" or "two walks must come out" etc. Why "must" they? Just because they say so. Plus there is always a bit of collapsing/lapsing/absorption (pick your term) during the week.
Think the COMs have probably been told "Either you remove x hours from the office or you'll be replaced with someone who is capable of removing x hours from the office."

On the CSS was can see it happening where some batches suddenly half half the number of walks with no sign of other batches gaining the removed walks. Normally a batch only has walks removed when it hits the limit for the number of DPs

" Come on. Balance your argument. What about saying...you are working x mins less on certain days to make up for that. Why is outdoor work harder, you're still on yer feet." :left:

Some clown's on here. Sort of thing my ConDom would say. 🤔

Having done both indoor and outdoor work myself , I can assure you that it is much harder work outdoor.

Maybe this agreement doesn't specifically say anything about the length of walks but the future doesn't look like the job is going to get easier with either a yes or a no.

They can make the duties up to have 2000 calls. You still only have to work your contracted hours.
Ours has 2500 now with a revision in 2 weeks adding another 200+ I think it's safe to say they want us working outdoors longer!

The CWU also accepted a two-tier workforce by allowing the company to recruit staff on less pay, terms and conditions. This is the road to the gig economy with a low paid, low skilled and high turnover workforce.
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.
