A shafting of an agreement
But the CWU are back in the workplace.
Thats all they can say.
Can have as many working groups as you like, RM will still just steam roller through. Look at the revisions and the thousands leaving without VR

Dave Ward and co must be talking to himself in a room of mirrors, if he thinks that Capitulation and Surrender of a deal is popular???

In the agreement they have same protections on the PDA 'surveillance' as they did in the pathway to change.sindba wrote: ↑24 Apr 2023, 17:57I just cannot understand why they agreed all the unecessary stuff that completely shafts us.
I mean, if RM are in fincancial trouble then we can't expect much movement on big ticket stuff like pay.
But they could have stood firm on stuff that is nothing but workforce bullying like PDA performance monitoring, absence review procedure, flex, etc etc.
Shouldn't be used to discipline or conduct. Reps will have to reign in guvnors that do.

But it can now be used for "supportive" interventions from management. And punishment... sorry, "coaching".Mickeybrowneyes wrote: ↑24 Apr 2023, 18:26In the agreement they have same protections on the PDA 'surveillance' as they did in the pathway to change.sindba wrote: ↑24 Apr 2023, 17:57I just cannot understand why they agreed all the unecessary stuff that completely shafts us.

There will also be an app on our PDAs bollocking - sorry, "supporting" us to improve our performance.
It's everything RM wanted. Didn't the CWU *read* the small print, or do they just not know the reality of how RM managers interpret green-lights to bullying like this?

And what the HELL were the CWU thinking giving the go-ahead to the new attendance standards??!
Two absences in 12 months? I don't know a single postie, even the most conscientous, that can manage that.
It's quite a, y'know, demanding job.

So can anyone tell me what is a good deal? All I can see from where I am standing is if we continue to strike the company goes bankrupt. A government appointed administrator even under a Labour government won't lavish us with a blank check. The letter and parcel volumes dropped significantly while the industrial action occurred. The deal their offering seems borderline reasonable, anyone who thinks we'll get a pay rise in line with 2 years of inflation is in cloud cuckoo land. Its a lot better then working for DPD or god forbid Amazon Flex.

It’s a 3 year deal at 10%, inflation for last year is likely 15% for people of our earnings, this years will probably be between 5%-10% and then the year after who knows. I don’t think anyone is expecting 25%-30% pay rise, but there should be a no strings basic pay rise and then for changes we should be given additional pay. This is 3.3% per year for a shocking reduction in our terms and conditions.mattick wrote: ↑24 Apr 2023, 19:09So can anyone tell me what is a good deal? If you are happy with the deal then vote yes, I doubt you will be happy in 12 months though. I think it’s shocking and I value myself far more than this deal.

It’s a 2 year deal at 8% , why are the union banding around 10% , we’ve had 2% already which was imposed by Royal Mail last year.POP2022 wrote: ↑24 Apr 2023, 19:31It’s a 3 year deal at 10%, inflation for last year is likely 15% for people of our earnings, this years will probably be between 5%-10% and then the year after who knows.
