Did anyone REALLY think that after so long and so many bitter exchanges, this would be worth the paper it's written on?

The biggest clue was this week....not announcing anything to the membership but inviting div reps all the way to Bristol to be briefed on the deal...why?

When has this ever been done before?

The idea behind this was that everyone in the top brass CWU knew the deal would go down like a lead balloon with the membership today so they wanted to have the closed doors meeting with div reps to put spin on the deal and to sugar coat it as much as they could, then leave the sh1t part to the reps in the DO's. They knew full well how today would go.

If the deal had been anything good Ward & Furey would have been shouting it in glory from the rooftops and well everyone knows that.

Don't forget Ward puffing out his chest and saying "we're going to win this dispute, no doubt", "win the ballot win the dispute". I would imagine that the board in their closed room said "that's what you f@cking think mate".
