Or at least allowing contracts to be made up to 37 rather than capped at 35 hours because of said scrapped agreement

Good chance pay offer has improved. Dave Ward always said he wanted it backdated, maybe he got that change in the past days.

If not, then the pay offer is ok to me. I have immediate plans for any lump sum given to me. Hoping they got the lump sum up to £2000.

Time will tell.

The comit to deliver, has to be a no go, the revisions that are impossible to do as to be addressed, not sure what will happen about the sickness, but it is now a physical job, if you are outside for 5 hours in the rain snow freezing cold or baking heat, you are going to be sick more often. posties in their 50s and 60s will have hips, knees, feet and back problems more often. They should also make a national plan for full time post person's, that want to go part time or job share easier, therefore younger post person's that are part time could go full time and it couldn't improve sick records.

There’s no point in just comparing the deals financially, it will come down to all the other parts that the union may or may not have pushed Royal Mail back on .This is the problem with a democratic vote , most members purely focus on the money.

Well there is and there isn't as we can only pay our higher bills through the increase in our basic pay , as a means of exchange.

We cannot trade our terms and conditions to pay for our shopping, utility bills rents etc

Although I know what you are saying an annual pay rise and increase should be just that and exactly what was promised by TP at the start of the dispute a no strings pay rise

Leaving and putting aside all other strings and parts of the deal

How is this deal economically any better than the one we were offered before Xmas?

I seem to recall we were offered an 18 month deal of 6.5% plus a 2.5% lump sum

Compared to now

A 3 year deal of 10% plus a lump sum of 500 or 1500 whichever way you cut it up.

I think an 18month deal would have been better but that horse had now bolted.

I just don't think monetary wise this 10% 3 year deal is great at all once you take into account the way our wages have been ravaged by inflation over the last couple of years

Penny for your thoughts?
What is it with the short term thinking of a pay deal that completely ignores terms and conditions. The terms and conditions of the deal you are talking about make your point moot.

Waste of time discussing it! Again! Done to death on here.

If the T&Cs of the current deal being offered are crap too then it'll be a no vote. It's that simple

I’m guessing any lump sum will be paid pro rata too? So for people like me who are still stuck on a part time contract, despite working full time hours every week. We aren’t going to get much after tax..

For me the biggest issue is the later starts/finishes. If it's the game changer that royal mail believe it to be then we should make sure that everything else is not being taken granted
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

There are too many key areas that won’t please all of the posties.
Start times or pay rise or workload or whatever else it is means that a lot of people have different priorities on the deal.

It’s going to be interesting how it pans out.

And how the CWU will try to sell it as the best deal available. I don’t think it’ll be much different to the deal they told its members was ‘derisory’ at the start of the dispute so I’m thinking there might be a gold nugget somewhere in it to sway the majority.

I think we all know this deep down. Obviously I’ll read the full deal properly when it’s out and judge from there but are any of us remotely expecting to be surprised with some massive improvements to the previous offers? It’s just not gunna happen, it’ll be a reworded version of last weeks offer, followed by a livestream of Ward looking weary down a camera to explain this is the best we will get.
I’ll be voting no but I know it will get a yes vote overall due to the lump sum payment.

Its not a 10% deal we have already had the imposed 2% last year thats gone it will probably be 8% over the next 2 years crap
I know , so with inflation mostly at 10% for the past year, we have effectively taken a 8% hit over the past 12 months!!
Inflation over the time covered by the pay deal offered a few weeks ago will be something like 25-30%.

So Royal Mail get everything they want and we get a paycut in return.
