I could not agree more! Let's not underestimate Royal Mail. If we decide to go ahead with the strike, it will be like turkeys voting for Christmas. Do we really want to end up like the miners in the 1980s? It's in everyone's interest if Royal Mail is profitable.

Thing is they made 750millon profit in April less than 6months later there's nothing in bank, bad management of financials, not the staff striking.

Comparing this situation in any way to the miners is stupid in the extreme

A lot to lose for RM. Losing customers each strike and trust will be difficult to win back. An expert on TV said it could damage the brand for years.

The Brand will be re-branded just like EVRI
And hope people forget. But we won't.

RM have lost the workforce and they will lose the trust of the public. The special relationships between posties and their customers will severely damaged when all that matters is money , efficiency and results. A truly great shame which makes me sad.

I think that they (RM) won't recover! Every supported strike day is a nail in their business plan coffin. The general public have not a clue about IDS! Absolutely no kudos like the name RM. IDS will be just another competing courier company chasing a decreasing market share. To make any headway after this shitshow, they'll have to be offering less than minimum wage to their casual unprotected, truly fkedover replacements! Any takers?

Evening all..i work in network and with what Thompson wants i'd give it 6 months before everything crashed and burned. North West hub is a joke has been since it opened. The volume of just 2nd class and un machinable parcels it cant cope with is just unreal. The actual machanics of how RM works is beyond this man. Where are all the 350 odd hubs going to be. As far as im aware RM dont buy new buildings. Oh and new NDC not online til 2024. Good luck ST coz the work we do and how big an operation RM is ur plan is doomed. RM hasnt invested in years, yet now plans modernisation on the back of us. Wow !!!!! just wow
