I read that as a threat. These will be the existing
workforce terms and conditions if we don't win this thing. Brought in Asda style.

Outer London postie here
New employees will be on less generous terms:
40-hour week @ £13.75/hr in London (no outer/inner London rates) = £550 per week
We do a 37-hr week on £14.98/hr (Outer London rate)
which is £554.26 per week
The Inner London posties are on £15.84/hr or £586.08 per week. New recruits alongside them will do three hours a week more, for 6.15% less money!
They’ll be working 3 hours a week more than us Outer London peeps FOR LESS MONEY!
And when, in the future, RM try to cut our pay rate down to theirs ‘to make things fairer’… those people aren’t going to strike for people that already get paid more than them!

This is a key point! I always felt it was 2 tier workforce when I was at RM but this will be on a different level completely. The Union would be severely weakened. This must be stopped

Meaning if they have to have their own van, insurance, tax and diesel, you definitely won't get many people applying for the job, o and breakdown cover

Re: RMCtv : New entrants terms and conditions details
It says excluding I think, thought they'd come for paid breaks at some point, if you look at it that way there's an even bigger gap between the new and existing pay rates, if you deduct our paid breaks off 37hrs, say 40mins per day, that's 3hrs 20 per week so in effect we're actually on approx £13.87 per hour.Clappedoutpostie wrote: ↑31 Oct 2022, 16:40Exactly, very shortsighted.
Does that say 40 hours excluding meal break or including, can’t really see it very clearly.

So new entrants are doing 6 hours 20 minutes extra per week for the same money we get now (which isn’t enough as it is).

That's what I thought, just edited my above comment works out we're actually on about £13.87 per hour taking the breaks into considerationClappedoutpostie wrote: ↑31 Oct 2022, 18:353 hours 20 break on a 37 hour weekted_e_bear wrote: ↑31 Oct 2022, 18:29It says excluding I think, thought they'd come for paid breaks at some point, if you look at it that way there's an even bigger gap between the new and existing pay rates.Clappedoutpostie wrote: ↑31 Oct 2022, 16:40Exactly, very shortsighted.

Was just looking at these agency adverts. Are they confused whether they're hiring "owner drivers" or not haha
Organised and efficient, you’ll have your own/hired van and a full driving licence that covers your vehicle. In an ideal world your licence would be clean, but it definitely shouldn’t have more than 6 penalty points. You’ll also be able to arrange route cover if you’re unable to perform your route.
you will get royal mail manual van and fuel will be fully covered as well. Starting time will be between 8am to 10am, It will be 8 hour shift. and you will get £13.37 per hour weekly wages.

Re: RMCtv : New entrants terms and conditions details
Pretty certain it says including, although on the present contracts if you work 7 hours on a Sunday then you effectively get10.5 hrs pay ,on the new contracts you just get the 7 hours pay so that's 3.5 hours less pay per week.ted_e_bear wrote: ↑31 Oct 2022, 18:29It says excluding I think, thought they'd come for paid breaks at some point, if you look at it that way there's an even bigger gap between the new and existing pay rates, if you deduct our paid breaks off 37hrs, say 40mins per day, that's 3hrs 20 per week so in effect we're actually on approx £13.87 per hour.Clappedoutpostie wrote: ↑31 Oct 2022, 16:40Exactly, very shortsighted.

Re: RMCtv : New entrants terms and conditions details
This is exactly what Royal Mail have been planning for years. We had a team briefing years ago that was fronted by some bod representing the company who asked us to put our hands up those who had done more than 20 years service. Quite a few did. He then implied that we were not wanted because of expensive pensions and they were after a high turnover workforce. Well low and behold it’s here !

No delivery supplement either by the looks of it.
