Am I right in thinking that those on 35 hr contracts are on a lower rate than those on 37 hrs? We have 2 in our office, and it my belief they wont catch up on hourly rate until we get down to 35hrs.

where does this leave us regards pay comparisons between ft and pt staff
in the agreement pt staff were given extra pay increase to boost their pay as ft staff got reduction to 37 hrs
with no reduction to 35 hrs for ft staff how does pay work for pt staff who move up to 37 hrs ??
they will be on a higher rate of pay
also with pt staff on higher rate this must impact comparisons between o-time rates as well
when pt staff work same hours as ft then do overtime there pay rate will be higher than full time

Part timers got a pay rise to the same rate of pay that full timers are on.

ie. Full time rate of pay for 37 hours is the same as it was for 38. You dropped from 38 hours to 37 with no loss of pay, thereby increasing you hourly rate by something like 2.5%, part timers were given a similar increase at the same time. They are not on a higher rate of pay, they are on the same rate

The rate of pay will be the same regardless of the number of hours contracted. An example would be a part timer on 25 hours at £10 per hour earns £250, a full timer on 35 hours earns £350, and a full timer on 37 hours earns £370.

Those on 37 hour contracts earn more than those on 35 hours because they work more hours, it has nothing to do with the rate of pay.

especially when pt in ours start early shifts from 5am ot until their shifts start and do later shifts as well

and dont get me started on professional drivers who when finishing their own shift go out and do deliveries at their higher rate of pay
compared to your opg who covering same work is paid a lot less

You'd all get the same hourly rate after a year service whether full of part time. The full-time 35 your contracts are 2 hours shorter in pay than the 37 hour full timers. You don't think RM would pay the new 35 hour contracts 2 hours for nothing. Anyway the new contracts from today are for 40 hours and time and a quarter docket. But as the adverts showed it is still part time staff they are looking for.
