ST is very clever at pumping out the propaganda through ALL available sources, it's a cheap way of keeping up the drip... drip of misinformation designed to convince the less commited that it's a waste of time supporting their Union and it'd be better if they came back to work.
I think the ammount of effort ST puts into trying to convince us that "Everything's OK .... Best get back to work"...... just shows how worried he is about the Strikes. Yes he came back to the negotiating table with the news that he was tearing up the legal commitments of the Agenda for Growth.
He then came back with the threat of compulsory redundancies.
He does appear to be quaking in his boots.

This has been a manufactured dispute from the start, I think I pointed that out to Martin way back when Terry was still talking about no strings inflation level pay deals.
It didn't get this way through accident and misstep, this was the plan when Rico was around and had it not been for outside influences it would have been implemented years ago so there was no point where we let it get to anything. .
The only thing I would say in our favour is that Simon has played it poorly, a smart CEO who could detach their own ego from the situation would not have made themselves such a figure of personal hatred that haa ended up actually creating more solidarity than the Dave and Tel show ever could.

I was under the impression the next step was for the CWU to send a letter to ST this week with their counter proposals, assuming they send the letter hopefully it includes some firm sensible counter proposals rather than just stating "we want an inflation pay rise and all the proposed changed to be withdrawn with immediate effect".

But that is the sensible counter proposal - then start negotiating about the additional cost in terms of extra pay if we concede any of the changes that they want.

I was referring to the last announcement of 19 DAYS of Strikes Clash. He had already had that meeting with the CWU when he gave notice to tear up all our Agreements, and didn't want to discuss anything unless it was about HIS agenda.
After that 19 DAY Announcement on Tuesday the 27th, ST got in touch with the CWU and said he was willing to talk. Those talks started on the following Wednesday. I don't know about quaking in his boots but I believe the announcement of that ammount of disruption to the Business on the run up to Christmas should help to concentrate his mind?
