I couldnt agree less.

People doing OT will have zero negative effect on these strikes. This is a statement of intent by the union, we will destroy market confidence in the company before we let the board destroy the company itself.

Its not about backlogs FFS.
We are trying to put the wind up parcel customers that if they stick with RM then their businesses are going to face major disruption and losses heading in to their (and RM's) most profitable time of year.

If we are a parcel company (that also delivers a few letters) then our parcel customers starting to desert RM and move to competitors in their droves is what will win this dispute for us.

Even if you're right it would take another ballot which would take another 6 weeks then another 2 weeks notice which means at the earliest your overtime ban wouldn't become effective until the start of December.

I disagree with this. It's one thing to doing overtime during this time of the year when you've still got daylight outside and workload is somewhat okay. Completely different around these times, especially during the lead up towards Christmas. The amount of people wanting to do Overtime will more than likely diminish around this time, plus going into the factor now you are guaranteed to be having the workload being a lot more now. Hopefully, people do not lose their nerves though when it comes to management cuz I'm sure they'll be unbearable around this time too. Hang in there!

Is that sector order really the best way to do it? I mean if the processing and collections are on strike first then the next day there’ll be nothing to deliver anyway for when deliveries are on strike. Shouldn’t the days be mixed around to have a better effect?

I know it can seem overwhelming looking at those dates (already seeing people say they can’t afford to strike that much) but just a reminder it’s 1 day a week that affects those of us on deliveries.

Everyone’s circumstances are different and I respect that but you won’t lose more than 1 day a week pay. Hopefully we can all budget, not cross the picket line and start hitting the company where it hurts.
The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

Not if their day off is on a strike day!
