And how does Royal Mail expect staff that have been on strike that are losing money to be civil with those that have gone in and suddenly expect it to be business as usual after the strikes??
Perhaps they expect people to act like grown ups?
I know this is Royal Mail Kindergarten but we can live in hope.
From someone talking about shape shifting lizards, time travel and eating Union reps. I suppose we can take it all in good humour
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.
Anyone who goes on strike must not be permitted to make up the time by working longer after returning to work. Don’t give strikers additional earning opportunities when they return, but normal levels of overtime may still be worked.
Is this actually permissible?
Is this a part that should have been implied but not put in black & white?
That’s surely discriminating against a workers right to withhold labour?

The likelihood is that document was run past a dozen solicitors before it was approved for distribution, so the wording and implication is likely legal, if a bit shaky - they'd probably argue you're just reading too much into it, that 'normal levels of OT' is not defined and nonsense about 'business needs'
You'd probably end up in a situation where you'd have to take it court/tribunal to prove they were actually discriminating and get it resolved 2 years and £30,000 in legal fees later.

I've given strike breakers the benefit of the doubt in past disputes but not this time.
If you're on here and intend to cross the line at least have the guts to PM me so I can hit the ignore button, I've got f**k all interest in anything you have to say.
Not at all.
I think you can be civil and act like a grown up but still retain the right to decide who you actively engage with and whose opinion you respect enough to listen to.
I'm not going to call anyone names or be abusive. It won't affect my ability to do my job and I won't encourage people to shun others, it's purely my decision.

Every strike I have been in was a 'must win' scenario.
I would have convos with those I knew would go in, and obviously it always fell on deaf ears.
Apart from a couple of possible incidents that came from 'them', it was business as usual as those types do not interact with 'us'.
This is the biggest 'must win' that I personally have faced since 97. This is massive.
Any f****r who goes in during 'this' dispute really needs to look at themselves.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. My BFF Clash The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
Well just breaking a New newby CEO or old hat Chairman would be good it will not stop the rise of globalisation or world capitalism at the expense of us all while not a fan of capitalism. It has it's place in the world but we should not be beholden to it nor it's many forms for the sake of idealism at the expense of cost capitalism only works with competition without which it will gorge itself on greed, As is happening now in our energy markets the people who allow this are the government mostly the people who voted for them in 2019 and probably regret doing so. Well you might we say what has this got to do with our strike well dark forces like Liz Truss are looming in the wings and shoulders of the party of capitalism, While we cannot dictate who leads a party nor should we bendith the knee to a conservator of slavery black or white this is coming for us all as we don't work hard enough get the whip Liz Truss!
