The 2% pay rise + 1.5% for agreeing changes + 2% bonus is only half of what inflation is
and the 2% bonus is only a one off so not really a payrise. Not that it matters as nobody will get remotely close to their target figures :arrrghhh :arrrghhh

We deliver everything they give us within the time they give us, how can we be ore efficent than that?
They will always want more out of us, and their definition of productivity will always be used as a tool to label us all lazy and that we should/need to do more.

They want you to work for nothing, come early and stay out late and work Sundays.
If this lot ever comes in people will just leave.
Yes, it's a race to the bottom.

They keep on about our great pay and terms & conditions that we have. What they don’t say is every year they are taking them away bit by bit and given pi@@ poor pay rises.

Whether the 5.5 is right or wrong its still way off what we want, lets start @ 12% with no strings, or stay out until the New Year :coolr

Difference in bonuses between us Posties and Simon Thompson

Postie: Work for 280 years, achieving that £500 bonus each year = £140,000

Simon Thompson: working 1 year = £140,000

280 bloody years![/b

On top of this.... that 2% bonus isn't even in place. We get a £100 bonus each year as it stands. We have to work 1,400 years to get the same bonus Simon got this year.

It's incorrect/mis information/lazy journalism pushed out in the media that promotes the view that we're
a bunch of money grabbers and needs to be refuted by the CWU Communications Team.

Don't people already work for nothing by coming in early, staying out late and not booking and Sunday work is already happening. I don't see people leaving, plenty of moaning but no one leaving.

Same as it ever was......

People leaving all the time they just don't bother to inform you personally.

So Simon basically got £140,000 bonus for,

Implementing the shitest revisions up and down the country we've ever seen? I mean ours was so s**t after the planner had made such a mess of it all, we binned his and did our own.

And

A recruitment freeze. Thousands of duties failing week in, week out because of his and his boards decisions. Yet they reward it? Ofcom have just fined us and they continue with this bullshit!!!

How stupid can the media really be? Even the managers have voted to go on strike!!! f**k me, that says it all doesn't it?

It's all about shareholders dividend return.

To think we will have to go through all this again next year. Every other company can give their staff a no strings pay rise. We are so far behind the times. We waste so much money, our offices are like being back in the 1970s, no A/C no fans, no canteen, clapped out vans with no A/C . DPD have vans with A/C and all this rubbish about we are not in the van long enough is false. A decent A/C unit in a vehicle works ice cold within seconds upon starting the engine.

I was told years ago the job will be family friendly now. What a laugh that is. I don’t spend any money because I’m too knackered after work to go out. Family friendly? They go out and leave me unconscious on the sofa. The worse thing that happened was working in pairs. You can never make two loops the same in time to deliver and you can never get two people to be the same speed. One person will always end up waiting for the other. It’s worked fine for 550 years until this stupid new way of working. We use to have managers who knew the job and had done the job for years. Now you can’t ask them anything because they don’t know.
Never had cut offs. I’d never heard the word. We are on the verge of being history and to be quite honest lots of us really dont care anymore. The dressing room has been lost.

Exactly.

I think he mainly got the bonus because we were busier during Covid due to people being home more and getting the test kit contracts. So he got his bonus because of luck.

Ofcom are about to fine Royal Mail again for his recruitment freeze when we needed staff. Simon has left us with 2 days mail weekly since he joined RM. He has not recruited enough staff and it is going to come back and bite the company with another multi million pound fine.
