Please watch it, it's long, but worth a watch!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Why do they keep saying competitors? RM have NO competitors. They are unique in what they do. No other company in this country deliver mail AND parcels to every place in the UK. FACT.

Sooooo many reasons this would never work!!!

Watching the video, to anyone who is not a postie it actually sounds kind of fair . . . but we all know the reality is totally different!

Also, has this guy ever been a postie? Head of delivery design- he must have years of experience no?

Forced overtime is what it sounds like to me. Why not just say that? Look at how hard it is to get a lieu day paid back right now, they just magically dissapear off your record because you can never book them, exactly as the banked hours will. Either that or they'll want to pay you them back at the end of the year because time doesn't allow to give them back, which again equates to forced overtime. And what about all the people with kids that took the job for the fixed hours in the first place, surely this can't be brought in or hundreds if not thousands of posties will be forced out the door. Would that then be constructive dismissal on a mass scale?

Talk about wanting your cake and eating it! Let them change the hours over the year but tell them no chance on the commit to deliver and let the car crash commence

What an absolute joke. They want everything flexible for the benefit of the shareholders/company with absolutely no benefits to the postie.

'less' lapsing...not 'no' lapsing... So they still won't even confirm you'd have no lapsing and expect us to clear duties no matter what ?

"Here's a bulk delivery today guys but no worries we'll make sure you get those hours back in 3 months as long as it goes over 8 hrs"

And work 44 hrs a week in busy times?
But it's ok we gets 4 to 10 weeks notice to sort our lives out. Makes it super easy to arrange child care arrangements

12+ years but if this comes through will be definitely looking elsewhere now. They can call it industry leading pay all they want but it's not worth the added stress anymore.

If they bring this in they had better make sure all the rounds are doable because every duty is just about upto time or over at the moment in the quiet time of year! And you can bet any banked time you wanted back would become "come in an hour late and we will get your round prepped"

None of this can happen unless we agree to a change in our contract?

As a local rep I would normally sit down with management and point out rationally the flaws in their latest proposals but these individuals at the top who think this is workable or acceptable are obviously bat s**t crazy 🤪🤪🤪.

These proposals can only be met with one response - F##K OFF you cranks!!! 🤬🤬🤬

For this to have a fraction of a hope in hell in combination with the "annualised hours" proposal, duties would need to be created using the busiest "model week" of the year, which I imagine would be somewhere between Amazon Black Friday (early November) and Xmas Day. I'd guess that currently, a vast majority of depots are using a "model week" much closer to the traditional mid summer quieter period, which would make duties have a larger number of calls.

And what happens if you come in to find a backlog on your duty, due to lack of cover, perhaps for a number of days (not an unusual scenario over the past ~2.5 years)? Sorry Bob, you might have to stay out to complete until gone 2100? :hmmmm
