How many of you hardcore union people looking for another job outside of royal mail? And have you found anything that offers the pay/afternoon finishs and conditions you expect?
Zzzzzz
At the end of the day you are just postmen [sic].You deserve nothing more than what's been offered and probably a lot less.

I think for most posties, even with the proposed changes, it’ll still be an ideal job for them. Not as good as it was but still fine.
Might be other jobs out there that are better for some people but in general I think most will stay.

Why should people who have put decades into a job just walk away and not fight for their conditions? Maybe they would have chosen a different career and been happy if they had seen what was coming.

Because things change.
When you start in life you live at home, then you rent a flat, then you buy a family home. Same in buisness, it started off as the public wanting letters at 7am and 5pm, then they wanted parcels, then one delivery and now they want everything as soon as its ordered.

Thats not to say that the workforce of the country cant move around to find similar or better employment.

The only reason to leave is because of the change of hours but what other job is going to allow you to finish at 3pm?

I’d take that deal? Probably option B on the pay deal but otherwise I’m happy with that.
While 1500 sounds nice, it’s. Not pensionable. And of course who knows what will happen next year with the proposed 6%, things change and that might not happen.

Whereas option a with the 6% now would be better for pension.

I would take option A

I think your option is better in the long run. I guess it depends on what you want now. For me personally, the bigger lump sum would be more beneficial.
I’m still not 100% though….

I think you will find it was the business that wanted those things not the public.

It's a 2 yr deal. Sign it and it's either 2% now and 6% next yr with £1500 now. Or 6,% now, 2% next yr with £500 now. Either of the pay deals are the same wage after 2 yrs, just option with the higher lump sum, you'll be a grand less tax better off.

Remember if it’s dark and the driveway or lane is unlit you do not have to walk down it.
Where does it state you do not have to go down an unlit driveway or lane??

The likes of AMAZON, and supermarkets do it up to 22:00 at night. The majority of Local Authorities have now turned off street lighting hoping to save money.
Yes but they are driving to every address they deliver to and at most have a 100 to 120 drop off points not somewhere around 8 times that number all whilst having to walk 10 miles or more oh and having to account for their time should they stop to have a rest of 5 minutes or more. Oh and they actually got a 10% pay rise this past year
You do know you can have a rest of 40mins? And don't have to justify it. What's more, you get paid for it!! It's called A BREAK .

There is nothing stopping RM pleading poverty next year or crying that the revisions etc havent saved them enough money and saying its now unaffordable

These agreements cant be enforced - the union can ballot if not honoured but that doesnt change the fact that the payrise isnt guaranteed
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next
