Am in full agreement, Royal Mail has to modernise to survive in the 21st century with its outdated working practices the CWU are so determined to protect.

Sunday working and no sick pay for the first three days are a prime example of working five days out of seven in the real world of employment. Cannot see why these terms and conditions cannot be negotiated for improvements in other t&c.

The golden age with Covid revenue is at an end. Royal Mail has also done themselves no favours, with price rises in the middle of a cost-of-living crisis as well.

Now GLS is no more with cross subsidy, where is Royal Mail are going to replace its revenue lost in maintaining existing t&C?

As correctly stated, Royal Mail is no longer a service, but a business. That business has a fiduciary duty in compensating the shareholder above everything else under the law. The employee comes down the list. That is economic reality.
