I hope it's those lazy, useless non-drivers. :pray :wave
It won't be! Does no one understand discrimination??Already been successful grievances in other work sectors regarding not being able to/won't drive... You don't need a driving license to deliver letters!! If mon-fri letters come in, which it will, non-drivers will be doing letters - the whole Sunday thing is for parcels...

The non-drivers will be working longer hours but 1 less day per week (their full time hours will be split over 5 days instead of 6)

It's a long time since we had a standard 6 day attendance on deliveries.

A lot will come down to what sort of reduction RM manage to get for letters, we don't know how many days a week it'll be or if they've eve be consecutive days

That’s not what you said though - you said we would be working 5 days rather than 6 when we already work 5
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

He said it will be a 5 day service, as opposed to the current 6 day letter service, then in time, 3 days, but that's for the next generation...

No he never

He said we would be working 5 days rather than 6 so would need to do more hours in the 5 days which is wrong because we already work 5 days of a 6 day service with a floater covering the other days delivery

5 days of a 5 days service would be the same hours worked per week

Ofcom has already as good as given him the green light for a 5 day letter service as opposed to the current 6, and as during the COVID pandemic, it will probably be the Saturday that is dropped ...

If it goes to a 5 day letter service Mon- Fri you won't need a floater.

Yes that’s my point ( I’m not saying this is a good thing btw )

But it wouldn’t mean that more hours would need to be worked daily because doing 5 days instead of 6

SP seems to think we are contracted to work 6 days as it is now

If we were and it then moved to 5 days then yes we would need to work more hours in the 5 days but that’s not the case
If you tolerate this, then your paid break will be next

This was being talked about 2 years ago, it's no surprise it will come to fruition now the company is losing money.

Crossed wires  THOMPSON said letters will be a 5 day service instead of 6, then eventually 3 - don't remember Thompson saying anything about working longer, BUT, our managers are hinting walks will be bigger due to letters decline and parcels above shoebox size going to the vans ...
