Dear Colleague

Legal Services - Unionline New Motor Claims Service

As part of our ongoing development of services for members, we are pleased to announce the launch of Unionline's new free Motor Claims Service.

The service is designed to provide members with independent expert legal support, ensuring they get the best service and outcome, if they need to make a claim on their motor insurance policy following an accident.

This type of service is usually provided if your motor insurance policy includes motor legal expense insurance which can add up to £40 on to your motor insurance premium. This new service will replace the need for members to purchase motor legal cover (motor legal expense insurance), which is an added financial benefit in using this service.

The motor claims service is free of charge to all members and also their family. To make the most of the Unionline Motor Claims Service, in the event you are involved in a road traffic accident, you will need to call Unionline before you call your motor insurer on 0300 333 0303 and press option 5. Unionline with its selected service provider, Lexelle Limited, will then manage all aspects of your motor insurance claim.

The service and benefits to members and their families include:

Full management of your claim
Accident details automatically reported to your private motor insurer
Dedicated personal customer manager who will deal with the claim
Vehicle repairs arranged and managed
Vehicle replaced on a like for a like basis (no fault accidents only)
Vehicle recovery (where appropriate)
Personal injury claims handled by Unionline
Receive 100% of any compensation recovered
All legal fees covered by Unionline
Service available 24/7, 365 days per year
Save up to £40 a year
Unlimited number of claims
Access to telephone advice on a wide range of motoring issues

Unionline's Motor Claims Service will provide you with support, no matter what type of motor claim is being made.

Non Fault Accidents

As a member, if you are involved in a non fault accident, the service provides a replacement vehicle (where appropriate), organises and handles all repairs, as well as dealing with the recovery of all losses and handling any personal injury claims.

Fault Accidents

In the event of a fault accident, where the member holds comprehensive insurance cover, the repair process will be managed using manufacturer approved repairers. Members with third party only insurance cover, will be provided with appropriate advice depending on their circumstances. The service is available 24/7, 365 days per year. The main claims handling times are available from 8.00am to 7.00pm week days and 8.00am to 1.00pm on Saturdays. Outside of these hours an emergency service will be in operation.
