Can't be that small dingo said it was considerable................mind you, there is a history of exaggeration there, remember the DOTC and this one is GB.........though if deliveries get any worse it should probably be called GBH.cloherty1976 wrote:Chrisj what do you reckon then maybe they have taken the in between inflation out of the pay deal and I reckon still under 9% instead of 8.6%?

It means the manager can't hand out the best duties on a whim.chrisj wrote:

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: LTB:National Dispute Official Update
If the last thing to agree is delivery related then prepare for a long strike. It's moved on so much in such a small space of time reps at hq have been caught napping. If you ain't done a delivery in the past 3 years then you ain't got a clue what it's like anymore. Constant daily battles with clueless managers (who despite being mostly failed posties haven't done deliveries in the last 3 years), bullying/intimidation to stay out for as long as it takes, figures thrown in your face daily saying you only need x amount of time on prep, all figures based on 100bsi which the union haven't agreed on but rm still use. It's not pleasant in a delivery office anymore and a weeks worth of more talks won't solve it.

Re: Official Update
That is a positive way to look at things. In my experience, the managers are not that bothered: most of them are in fear of the senior staff anyways. The status quo is often maintained and sometimes abused by the people who the most to gain - The Seniors.clashcityrocker wrote:It means the manager can't hand out the best duties on a whim.chrisj wrote:

I have no problems with vacancies being allocated on seniority because otherwise it will be chaos and open to favouritism; moreover we are all equally qualified to post letters
I still do not think they should be harping on about Seniority or getting us or maintaining early starts. Early starts and early finish is part of the problem (or the fore-runner for) of people turning up hours before their start time - in delivery
Perhaps it is because I have done other jobs before (or even worked at MC and MDEC) but why do people care about the start time: most of them do not have childcare issues - that is a lie and/or an excuse.

Re: Official Update
Last night I wasn't very happy but if the CWU are confident that I can be resolved in 7 days, the benefit of doubt will apply. No more extensions please if no deal is struck or RM try to change part of the deal.Hitcher wrote:Well said.dingo wrote:It really is funny that now you have lots of people who were previously shaky on a strike suddenly giving it the big one and calling a seven day extension.
Do you really think our negotiators would have agreed to a further 7 day extension if there is not a very good prospect of a deal. Yes still work to be done but the union confident of a ground breaking deal.
The membership voted in an industrial action ballot that they are prepared to take industrial action in defence of they pay, pensions , terms and conditions and job security.
Now the CWU are confident of getting an agreement which will be subject to an individuals members ballot without any member losing a seconds worth of pay. Yet most of the posters want to go out cause it looks good or feels good ? Its about getting the right agreement not letting of steam.
I have been out plenty of times but the aim has alway been to get a deal. Some of you need to have a little bit more faith and surely you can wait 7 days.

I cannot possible say but we shall need a calculator to work out the major difference between the first agreement and the new one. Inflation should definitely be taken into consideration, so also is back pay (+ interest - low, I know but not for people like you cloherty
I think we are decently paid anyway. I have always said so. The MC and MDEC staff are perhaps overpaid for the job they do - ouch! (I am radical but I have seen TNT posties recently and I have even being an Angard staff amongst other jobs)

Re: LTB:National Dispute Official Update
7 day notice to strike should have been given on the 7th on the proviso that if no deal was forthcoming by the 13th we would all be out on the 14th.
Afterall, they had cleared their diaries to ensure a deal could be reached by the 13th, so what would have been the problem???

Why can't we know anything about the details? What's the secret?
What percentage pay rise is it? We are being taken for fools.

If anyone in the CWU H/Q or those who know them! Nothing will change till the bonus culture of management is ended once and for all not just in delivery but processing and distribution with the gangster style management comes the problems till this is solved nothing will ever change. WE DONT NEED JUST AN AGREEMENT BUT A CULTURE CHANGE THAT SOME MANAGERS JUST COULD NOT LIVE WITH OR WITHOUT BONUSES!

yes sometimes it can make you feel alone and intimidated! the union must do something about the workload, cuts & b&h in delivery! So many are at breaking point!mr deeds wrote:halfull wrote:very true, delivery is so bad now, you cannot go in anyday without being bullied & performance thrown in your faceobscurityknocks wrote:If the last thing to agree is delivery related then prepare for a long strike.
