A blue plaque has been put up in memory of popular postman Paul Dunmill who passed away recently from Covid.
Mr Dunmill had been delivering mail to East Farleigh for the past 20 years and had worked for Royal Mail for 40 years.
There has already been an outpouring of tributes to the man who was known for his ready smile and willingness to help others.
A Just Giving page set up in his memory and to support his widow Susan and only son Craig has already raised £9,168.
Mr Dunmill, from Sutton Valence, passed away in hospital on Saturday, January 30. He suffered with diabetes.
He became unwell the day after his 57th birthday and died weeks later.
The plaque has been attached to a telegraph pole in Gallants Lane, East Farleigh, next to the spot where he would park his van every morning to deliver the post locally.
Simone Perkins, who lives nearby, commissioned it.
She said: "It's giving us a point of focus to think about Paul, and I think it's helping people to grieve. He is so sorely missed.
"He was so important to the village, it seemed right he should be remembered."
