The postal service has already been hit by reduced staffing levels during the pandemic

Under-pressure posties are running the risk of being exposed to coronavirus - because people are putting their Covid swabs in the wrong postboxes.

The postal staff - who work out of Biddulph sorting office - are not expected to collect the Covid home test kits which should be left in 'priority' postboxes.

Instead that is the job of Stoke-on-Trent-based Royal Mail employees.

But some of the home test kits are ending up in the wrong postboxes.

Now Royal Mail's Biddulph manager has issued a plea to residents to make sure they use the designated postboxes to protect his staff.

Decide later that you no longer wish to receive the emails? No problem - you can just follow the unsubscribe link.

He said: "We all know Covid-19 is on the rise and we are seeing a lot more home testing kits in our postboxes.

"The problem we’re facing in Biddulph at the moment is that not everyone is using the labelled 'priority postboxes' for the tests to be posted in to.

"This is exposing my staff to increased risk when emptying them as the personal protection equipment is not always present and they are not expected to handle these items as there are set duties at Royal Mail Stoke who empty those priority boxes.

"We’re doing our best for you during this pandemic with reduced staffing levels so my plea to you is that you keep my postmen and women safe so that they can continue to deliver to you as often as we can. Stay safe all and thank you."
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
