It has meant that deliveries have had to be rotated - but some have reported having no post for days
Under-pressure posties in Nuneaton have been forced to carry out alternate deliveries as the workforce has been hit coronavirus.
It sheds light on why households across the town have reported that they have not been receiving their daily post.
CoventryLive understands that the Royal Mail delivery team has been down by a third due to coronavirus.
This has meant that the reduced workforce has not been able to deliver as much post every day.
In some places in town, some people have reported not receiving any post for days.
Management have put daily rotations in place to ensure that people have received their post at least every other day.
But the impact of the delayed post is set to be felt over the coming days - and people are being urged to bear with the under-pressure team.
A Royal Mail spokesperson said that they hoped to return to a normal service later this week.
"The health and safety of our colleagues and our customers is our number one priority. In a limited number of areas, we are experiencing some disruption to service due to Covid-related absence," the spokesperson said.
"In impacted areas, we are focused on providing as comprehensive a service as possible to our customers."
