When are we sharing vans/ driving own car

Has anyone heard about when we start sharing again, our Dom hinted about it but he’s now gone somewhere else and stand I’m Dom doesn’t have a clue! My partner doesn’t have his own car but can drive the van and has suggested I drive my car around loops, as he is fed up with walking extra 3 miles a day with hct. I’m not convinced about using my car for the Royal Mail but if we are sharing vans soon i might do it for a couple of weeks because we so far haven’t done it and my partner has just about had enough of it!

Don't think it'll be back any time soon when the government is cautious about the possibility of a 2nd wave. Saw a mention on the news earlier that Hong Kong might be experiencing a 3rd wave

You have a start and finish time. Why do you want to risk your health and that of your family for a company that couldn’t not care less for you.

Would be nice for a union update on this !

Our manager has also hinted that van sharing should come back as police and dustman are sharing.

They have been sharing all through this - that's their choice/company policy. Our's won't ever be based on what others are doing.

This is what he was told when he asked for more vans. And no he can't have any.

Think theyve gone to their Christmas helpers scheme round my way, driver drives, passenger takes the parcels out.

Not in our area.
To be honest I've never seen more than one in a DHL or UPS truck and the only DPD guy who did it used his kid and paid him out of his own wages.

Yes I’ve seen 2 guys in ,Dad and Uk Mail vans round my way as way not even wearing masks!

How often do the vans get a proper clean inside (the whole van)?

I know you guys are desperate to get back to two in a van for whatever reason but you're completely missing the point.

It's all down to legal liability.

Royal Mail need to cover themselves by putting the processes in place, whether they are followed by particular offices doesn't matter because they can point to the processes and wash their hands (pun intended).

What they don't want to do is officially change one of those processes and open themselves up to compensation claims. What other companies do is irrelevant, you can't stand up in court and say DPD does this or that because you'll get laughed at.

Basically as I've said before the lawyers will decide.
