Poll : Is social distancing still happening?
If there is someone in your office who has the symptoms of the virus or you found out they have got the virus then they 'should' be classed as 'distance contacts' as per Royal Mail.
Forum Global Announcement
More distant contacts, which would probably include the majority of people who someone works with in a delivery office / mail centre (given that social distancing measures are supposed to be in place), would not fall into this category, so we wouldn’t normally expect them to need to self-isolate.
Sooooo, easy questions, is social distancing still happening in your office.
If not why not and what has or was done about it?
How do you feel about it?
As many answers and votes as possible please.
It's not scientific, it's a gauge exercise.
You will have 5 options (1 in each section) and you can change your vote, I put that in, in case you made a mistake.
Ignore the ----------------------- bits that is to break it up in sections.
Your vote/s are 100% anonymous.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

NONE in my office. Signs up and one way walkways to make it appear as if it’s in place but it’s absolutely 100% not happening in my mail centre.

Never happened, no-one has ever given a fig about it, especially managers.
Token efforts were made, one way arrows on the floors and whatnot, just so their backs are covered in case of any comeback.

Why is it up to a manager/rep to remind you to make sure you look after your own health? Do you still ask your mum to hold your hand when going to work?

Nobody social distancing, just 2/3 wearing masks even when working in very close proximity. I find it a real worry

Because you cant go round telling other people to social distance they'll just tell you to f off or laugh,it has to be enforced just like outside the office, shops etc.smok3y666 wrote:Why is it up to a manager/rep to remind you to make sure you look after your own health? We had every other sorting frame taped up, a one way system to go up and downstairs and packet sorters work in a circle around the half yorks. But as others have said it has been pretty much ignored by managers and people have not kept 2 metres away from each other in other areas of the office from the very start of it all. Not heard of any colleague kicking up a fuss about it either. I see what my brother in law has to do to his companies office before his staff can return and i am amazed. Said he should come visit our place. That would be an eye opener for him!

Bump.
'Roughly' 150+ so far not doing it, can we get some more votes please.
Maybe I should do a naming office exercise.

Ours has got even worse now with staff returning to office that were originally working remotely.
Large groups sitting together all at the same time in canteen.

Ours lasted for a couple weeks, now nobody cares anymore. If you wear a mask/gloves you'll be ridiculed. Managers/Rep just left people to do as they wanted.

That's the thing I often think about - the measures that other companies have taken, screens, one way systems, not sharing desks or equipment, strict enforcement of distancing (i.e. you get sent home if consistently breaching the 2m rule).DiamondSmiles wrote:We had every other sorting frame taped up, a one way system to go up and downstairs and packet sorters work in a circle around the half yorks. People taking their cars to delivery point - are they governed by the same same 1 person per vehicle rules?

No, in line with ‘social distancing’ guidelines from Public Health, the business has moved to one person in a vehicle at one time until further notice.
