Financial Times journalist request to speak with employees about corona virus and Royal Mail

Post by michaelp »

Hello everyone,

I am a reporter at the Financial Times and I have been covering Royal Mail for a number of years.

I am planning a piece looking at how the company has responded to the coronavirus outbreak, whether in the provision of PPE for staff, enforcing social distancing measures or its decision to temporarily suspend Saturday letter deliveries.

I've heard from some people that the pandemic has been a very busy time at delivery offices due to high volumes of mail, with work made more difficult given absences due to illness or self-isolation.

I'm also interested to hear your views following the CWU's announcement on Friday that it had obtained assurances from Royal Mail that the suspension of Saturday letter deliveries will not be permanent.

If anyone would like to talk with me, let me know and I can give you a call.

Thanks,

Michael Pooler

Mr Pooler
I would like to direct you on this forum to an excellent article written by one of our CWU Representatives. It is under the column of The Dispute and is titled "Threat of mass walkout foils Royal Mail bosses". this pretty much summed up the position we the workers are in with regards to an Employer who has totally lost all confidence with its workforce. I wish you all the very best and look forward to reading your article.

Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.
