DOWNGRADED FROM EXTREMELY VULNERABLE TO MODERATE

Been on 12 week isolation after receiving NHS text.Received another text last week saying downgraded to moderate so returned to work.Just seen that moderate means enhanced social distancing which is impossible in delivery office.Anyone else similar? In wondering whether or not I should be in work?

My office manager said I needed an isolation note for 12 weeks and when I received the second message assumed I wouldn't receive one

Should have consulted with your doc 1st or rang nhs on 111 rem your manager is what it says it is a manager not a health professional.

should of said nothing to work.2weeks ago they said you should shield for 12 weeks what has changed since absolutely nothing

Lots of people in a similar situation. Only extremely high risk people will have NHS letters.

But high risk people are told not to work by the the NHS, but forced to work by Royal Mail because they can't get doctors notes.

High risk includes people with asthma, diabetes, heart conditions, blood pressure issues, Multiple Sclerosis etc etc. All being forced to work.

Royal Mail are scum.

I only received a text,needed an isolation note as the manager insisted.Obviously when I received the second text and Smith no isolation note I had no option to return.I have asthma and am under a consultant.

Only two things you can try.

1) ask your GP for a sick note, if you can get hold of them (doubtful as GP receptions are referring all Covid enquiries to 111). If you get through to a GP, they probably won't give you a note for Covid ( most are not, for some reason)

2) ask your manager for unpaid leave. He will probably refuse.

The Union are useless on this, and Royal Mail are ruthless in forcing high risk people to work.

Government were terrified of NHS been overun,now got plenty of spare beds so can change policy .

If a GP won’t give a note directly for COVID-19, they might do for overwhelming anxiety, and what is a more legitimate cause for anxiety than fearing for your life having to work in a currently unsafe environment?

Look here if you or someone is likely to die in your household from catching this disease you need to stay away from the office if the government won't provide the correct paperwork for sheilding and royal mail won't accommodate you in some way(start times out of the office etc) or pay you at this critical time--- then rather than dying by going in for pay you should be going to get online/offline sick notes from a doctor for some back pulled muscle etc injury,stress depression basically anything to save you and your loved ones life because every other firm is paying people that need to stay off. So if royal mail are not providing a duty of care you need to book a private online consultation with a doctor pharmacy 2u do this and get a sick note for something to sheild you and your family whilst not going bankrupt....Yes this does involve playing the system but frankly it is do or die at present until a vaccine turns up.
At some point you will have to turn up but if the situation is that critical you should stay away by whatever reason possible for as long as is possible and if you do turn up be masked in the office or arrange to work outside the busy shop floor...outside is twenty times safer at present.
Stay safe look after yourself no company/ union is going to do this for you hard choices need to be made and maybe unatural ones for hard working individuals but with +20k dead it's time to look after number 1 if you have underlying conditions!

In a high risk group but did not receive isolation letter. Doctors have been told not give out sick notes for isolation so I got one for stress instead!
