For anyone wondering about how samples will be returned. The swab is to be placed in a plastic tube, that tube then into another tube, then into a cardboard box and finally a plastic bag.

Looks like the return packet is about an A5 jiffy bag size. Are they clearly marked as Coronavirus test kit returns? If they aren't they might end up being put through a FSM as small jiffy bags can end up being in boxes of flats that have been through a FSM

I bet most people won't bother washing their hands at any point between swabbing themselves and sealing up the outer packaging.

yes its the packaging up then the transport of the package by the person who tested themself to its collection point that is the concern.

They should only be going to priority postboxes (normally located outside post offices) let people on your walk know this is the case.

How will that be the case on rural walks when a village has 1 single post box and might not necessarily have a Post Office. What about where people live a long way from their nearest Post Office (many of the bus routes this way are now 1 bus every 2hrs)?

We were initially told they would only be going to 4 post boxes in our area... that information has now been amended and the figure has slightly increased, to 48 post boxes!

I do not collect from priority post boxes, which is where these are supposed to be posted. However in the last 3 days I have had 2 in separate boxes that are definitely not priority boxes. one of these kits was not put into the outer plastic bag and was in the card box only. If you cannot trust the people taking these tests to follow the instruction on packaging and posting in the correct post box how the hell can you trust them to have decontaminated it before putting into a postbox.
On top of that I was given no instruction on how I was supposed to deal with these items and not given any plastic bag to put it into. (neither was many I asked in our office, and other people have been bringing them back to the office then putting them into a bag)
This proves to me that this system is actually dangerous and will lead to thousands of pieces of mail getting contaminated and potentially spreading this virus more. We should not be handling these things at all.

How well marked are they as being the returns for the testing kits?
