Pay rise

Post by endofdays1982 »

Does no one think during these times because of the coronavirus and the fact its like xmas everyday now with parcels through the roof that we should be getting a temporary pay rise until the crisis is over? Amazon workers been given £2 an hour pay rise, who said they had it bad, maybe be better working for them im no even sure they have a union, it would be the honourable thing for all key workers to get pay rises, has the union got any say on this?

Should we? Yes.

Will we? No, not a chance.

RM see us as cannon fodder for their profits, not valued employees.

The fact we've heard nothing so far doesn't fill me with confidence for any future relations. Iv had more correspondence from the Sainsbury's and Tesco's CEO's than our fearless leader.

My advice would be to let RM's actions and attitude during this crisis embolden you when it comes to the inevitable return of executive action and industrial action. I expect they will attempt to tie in any Corona Bonus and pay rise with their proposal for the changes they want to make. DO NOT BE FOOLED!

My mate who works at Costco is getting £65 a week extra. Amazon pay rise is for everybody that works there. At the local warehouse they are now on more per hour than RM apparently.

We are nothing more than cannon fodder sadly. I can’t see us getting anything.

Come on now, we can't deprive poor Rico and the shareholders of their valuable millions at these uncertain times.

We got told this week that as the business is loosing money we have to lapse to compensate, yet we are taking out more parcels than we do at Christmas with less staff and no hire Vans.

There are a lot of things that are eating into the extra money being brought in by increase in parcels.
Large numbers off sick.
Extra fuel for vans - many are being used over 2 shifts.
Overtime for extended deliveries.
Agency staff.
Also our most profitable streams have died of death - D2D, Mailsort, DSA, PPI, and Meter.

it's possible to utilise us better for damage limitation but in typical RM form the management just simply don't have a clue how to actually "manage" us
i see folk getting out 1hr to 1hr30 earlier than some every single day, some do double duties and done before we've done our regular duties,
and not just during this crisis, they're still allowing some to finish VERY EARLY and give grief to those who are struggling, honestly on monday plenty had tied and gone before some had even started, then those poor saps are left alone outnumbered
i love the job but they really do reward incompetence and punish some really good honest guys
