Record Views says Royal Mail must now follow a range of companies around the country who are taking measures to stop the spread of the deadly Covid-19.
The Alloa postal workers who went on strike were at the end of their tether.
They felt as if their safety has been compromised and no one was listening.
The Royal Mail is the fourth emergency service. Our posties carry out essential work and provide a lifeline to people across the country.
Like many, they are exposed to Covid-19 infection but understand the responsibilities of being key workers and the importance of doing their job.
We’ve all had to adapt to our changed circumstances.
Essential workers up and down the country have kept going through the lockdown, often at personal risk.
Employers must demonstrate a duty of care to their staff especially when they ask them to do so much.
The Royal Mail should help lighten the load by keeping junk mail in the sorting office and doing all they can to supply the correct personal protective equipment.
The Alloa posties have shown how strongly they feel.
None of them would have wanted to add to their stress levels by taking any kind of industrial action.
It is time for Royal Mail bosses to show they care for workers who each day step up to the mark for all of us.

I've been a postman coming up for 4 decades and I can tell you now although there has and are managers that do get it! And do right for the workforce we have a small amount of management that are just narcissistic! it's in their DNA
in our area we have one particular manager knows nothing else other than to do his daily work on the premises of spite royal mail have moved him around all the different PDO's for the decades that I've worked for the company and industrial unrest has always followed, so unless these sort of people are taken out of the equation at times like this things I can tell you won't change

Cannon fodder is all that posties are now, that cockney spiv Pullover has effectively handed down a death sentence to his membership all for political and partnership deals.
Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

MYROYALMAIL.COM :We will now only deliver door to door to addresses receiving letters or parcels at the same time, wherever possible. We call this ‘warm calling.’
Door to Door is safe to deliver
Public Health England (PHE), the key health authority, has advised that people handling letters and parcels are not at risk of contracting coronavirus
The World Health Organisation (WHO) has also advised that coronaviruses do not survive long on objects, such as letters or packages
Obviously, as we have spoken about a hundred times on here, how long........is long?

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

We've been told by our DSM that D2D must be delivered as normal, anyone caught not doing it will be suspended. For a communications company, how come we can't sing from the same hymn sheet?

Anything from 24 hrs up to 72 hrs seem to be the numbers being banded about.POSTMAN wrote:MYROYALMAIL.COM :We will now only deliver door to door to addresses receiving letters or parcels at the same time, wherever possible. We call this ‘warm calling.’

And if your office is riddled with base and six double slotted frames your fuc£ed because you have still to take the D2D's if there's no mail for one of the two houses in that slot.
Clearly whoever is coming up with these ideas has never worked in a DO.
