My wife has started coughing and has a bit of a temperature. So I phoned my dom this afternoon to say I will have to self isolate for 14 days. He has told me I have to either take no pay or use holiday. I cant get hold of my rep .now not only am I scared for my wife and myself getting it but also i wont get paid . Can anyone tell me the pay situation

Tell him you are self isolating for 14 days on full pay. Otherwise you could potentially infect half your office. Dont listen to this meathead DOM bully.

Make sure you take notes of the time and date the DOM said this and put it in writing to your rep with a copy for yourself and for your DOM.
Then put in a formal complaint against him.

I thought they would only pay if you yourself had the symptoms?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

This issue needs clearing up NOW, once and for all.
There has been so much confusion about this over the last 24 hours or so.
Can someone find out the definitive answer to this as of today and going forward, because its clearly causing so much unnecessary stress as well as wasting peoples time trying to find the answer.
Unfortunately you cant trust what DOMs say, i think a lot of us have learned this during our years at RM.

Yes i have read it but are you 100% certain that this is the current situation and that Royal Mail havent changed their policy on this over the last 24 hours? There seems to be conflicting stuff floating around about this issue.POSTMAN wrote:Read my link!mjd24 wrote:This issue needs clearing up NOW, once and for all.

It's such a dumb call that it's very, very unlikely. You can never be 100% certain with RM on anything.

Straight on the phone to Boris's office, 'I can't afford to follow your guidance mate because my employer won't pay me so all that squashing the peak stuff is screwed mate... soz'.
They would get slaughtered in the media.
