Thinking about the briefing tonight, the message from the CWU and our key worker status. I thought we would be tasked with delivering food parcels, provisions, prescriptions etc, however as the Health Secretary has asked for NHS volunteers to do this exactly what have we been signed up for?.
Thinking about this if we worked for a 'normal' company we could be offered a whole raft of measures for us (80% pay etc) and business (loans, reduced rates etc) BUT we have great sickness pay etc...... instead we are offered as key workers so no pay to isolate or shield with family members, expected to work in exposed and dangerous conditions but for what benefit?
Surely the NHS would jump at the chance of using our knowledge and network to help, local food firms, pharmacies, shops etc etc..... unless our service comes at a price? Is this why they are asking for volunteers instead of using us?
Just a thought?

Have we been hung out to dry???
I'd feel like I am doing something "key" if I did deliver food parcels, medicine etc rather than D2Ds.

Possibly a price thing, but RM would still want us to be delivering mail and other essential 'tat' for bored people who've now got nothingsicknote25 wrote:Thinking about the briefing tonight, the message from the CWU and our key worker status. better to do than order crap off the internet, whereas the Govt. would want a dedicated service to deliver food, medicine etc. We also don't
have refrigerated vans to deliver perishable food and some medicines which might need to be refrigerated.

I understand the refrigerated thighs but theres dry goods etc that we can and already do deliver, I understand we are a business but surely this is the time to show the public exactly what we can do instead of chasing profit from internet shoppers?

Have we been hung out to dry???
Hancock today asked for 250,000 NHS volunteers to deliver shopping and delivery of medicines ...meanwhile we will still be delivering figurine monthly and screwfix direct to keep Royal Fail in profit whilst putting us all at risk thanks to that cockney spiv Pullinger saying we was `key workers` ask yourself something have they stopped executive action anywhere?
Royal Mail managers.....about as popular as a t.urd in a swimming pool!
The DDA/Equality Act demands action,NOT words......adjustments NOT Occupational Health referrals.Case No:2505901/09
Royal Mail is an Equal Opportunities Employer..It discriminates against everybody.

Exactly but with our network etc WHY are they asking for volunteers to do this? We are out there anyway.Yamr1 wrote:Putting our life's at risk for shite junk mail and people in there house ordering shite to keep them happy
