RMG has given us guidelines of how to deliver the mail to our customers to protect them and ourselves but what about in the DO's in the morning. In our office when sorting is called the bag drop frames have at least a dozen people around them all reaching over one an other and not using the 2 metre distance protocol. Is this happening in all DO's at the moment and is it only going to get worse if packets reach xmas levels. Your thoughts.

yeh I thought the same thing. Don't think they really care about us. Also I think many posties won't leave the parcel on the door step when they answer the door, and just hand it to them as normal, which concerns me as it would have a better chance of spreading. Also sharing a van means we're really close to our partner throughout delivery. Seems like a matter of time before it goes through the office.

Not possible in MCs, most setups don't work if everyone has to stay 2m apart. Only way it would work is if the work could be sent out to DOs later, then DOs would start and finish later as a result

Then it can be done.
But it won't be......

Still people that don't fully understand what a pandemic is....

Managers that just want to get the mail delivered....

And the higher ups that don't give a toss about any of the actual workers.

You do realise that it would mean you, say if your normal start time is 08:30 and your normal finish time is 15:30, they'd move to 10:30 and 17:30 (could potentially end up being even later than that)

And for one person to sit in the back of the van on a van share pairing.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

This wouldn't be allowed for safety reasons.
