Unvacinated isolation not discounted
a colleague who claims to have a hidden disability (won't disclose), doesn't wear a face covering (hidden disability), won't take any kind of test (lateral or PCR) and has had more than one Covid absence through being alerted by the NHS Covid app that he had been in the proximity of someone who was positive, has been told now that his absence's will no longer be discounted from the formal attendance process. He is being seen by management as an awakward individual who is being non co-operative in regard to following guidance to protect himself and others but is picking the guidance which benefits him such as isolating when alerted. Any thoughts on this situation...

It’s a tricky one , I respect everyones right not to get vaccinated but I don’t think they should be treated any differently to the vaccinated, it’s their choice after all.

Re: Unvacinated isolation not discounted
He has the right not to get vaccinated ( his choice) but should be mindful of others.
Long term, any employer can not sustain paying people wages every time the app pings and that’s why Government changed the rules if vaccinated.
It’s a tricky situation because this may cause anxiety to people who are generally afraid of the vaccine (or poison to some).

Sounds like an anti-vax nutcase. Clearly management have got his number.
If absences are repeated are excessive in nature, they have every right to take it further.

I thought the rules had changed a few weeks ago now, you can't just down tools if you get notified, you have to take a test.

Chances are they'll go into work instead of self-isolating as a result and spread it around. RM will soon be moaning when over half an office end up having to self isolate

The fact he won't take a test shows the kind of dick he is.
He's putting others in danger.
I'm with the screw on this one....
The business reserves the right to refuse sick pay if an absence is due to, or is aggravated by, causes within the employee's control, or if the employee has neglected instructions given by a Doctor

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Unvacinated isolation not discounted
If deaths weren't made up, they would report them as Died from Covid.
But No, "people who died for any reason within 28 days of a positive test " is the official method of counting deaths.
There are finally a few journalists and prominent people talking about this now, so if you want to ignore it and pretend covid killed all these people, it's fine. But it's still a legitimate question to ask why death numbers have been manipulated.

Re: Unvacinated isolation not discounted
So what are all the millions of deaths and people on ventilators around the world from then, there's clearly a virus, there's a place for conspiracy theories which some can be legitimate but this clearly isnt, what a decent thing that opg could of done to just take a 2 minute test for the benefit of his colleagues who do think its real it really isnt asking that much,he would either test negative or have paid time off its a win win your not really thinking this through.Partyondude wrote: ↑02 Jan 2022, 07:39If deaths weren't made up, they would report them as Died from Covid.

Re: Unvacinated isolation not discounted
I never said the virus isn't real, and like i said, the death from any reason within 28 days of a positive test is what is classed as a covid death.
So the answer would be ANY REASON, Take your pick, cancer, car crash, pneumonia, any of a hundred causes . If someone dies and tests positive, it is classed as a covid death.
As for conspiracy theory, everything is clearly stated on government websites and on the news when they report the deaths, even though it is in small print at the bottom.
Last year the Italian health authorities revised their covid death numbers from around 127000 to around 3000, they were recording the same way we are and corrected their numbers to reflect the true number of deaths FROM covid , not WITH covid.
The information is there for anyone to see should you choose to do so.
