Change to self-isolation advice in Scotland
Following the rise in cases of the Coronavirus Omicron variant, the First Minister of Scotland,
Nicola Sturgeon, has announced a change in self-isolation rules.
From Saturday 11 December, the advice (in Scotland only) will be that all household contacts of
any confirmed Covid case should isolate for 10 days regardless of their vaccination status and
even if they initially get a negative PCR test.
There is no change in advice for non-household close contacts, who should continue to isolate
pending a PCR result. If that is negative they can leave isolation at that point as long as they are
double vaccinated.
The change is reflected in this UK self-isolation flow chart.https://www.myroyalmail.com/sites/defau ... _v.3.1.pdf
A little caution goes a long way towards stopping the spread when mixing this Christmas
We are asking colleagues to be mindful when mixing over the festive season, and to help to
keep everyone safe this Christmas by exercising caution before, during and after getting
together with others.
In England, guidance from this coming Monday (December 13) is to work from home where
possible. This brings England into line with the rest of the UK. Many employers are also opting to
postpone large work-related get togethers and festivities. In Scotland the government has
recommended that parties are cancelled.
We encourage this approach — but where people do still choose to mix, suggest following these
precautions to keep everyone safe and well over Christmas:
Completing a Lateral Flow Test (LFT) at home each morning before entering the Operation
Completing an LFT test before you get together with others at a function.
As ever — it is really important to self-isolate when advised to do so. If you think you have
symptoms of Coronavirus you should self-isolate, book a PCR test and not come to work until
you have either received a negative test or completed self-isolation.
Workplace home test kits are available to order - please visit the RMG National COVID-19 LFD
Home Self Testing Portal for more information.
Test kits can also be obtained through the Government website as well as various local authority
and NHS settings.

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
