Track and trace alert during leave

Currently on annual this week. Received track and trace alter to self isolate for 5 days. Been told by mamager leave can't be refunded. Any ideas what my position is?

"An employee who is on sick leave, and who would be permitted to take paid annual leave during that sick leave, is not required to take annual leave but may choose to do so. Where, as in this case, the Appellant did not wish to take annual leave during periods of sick leave, he was entitled to take the annual leave at a later date."

It's a grey area.
Self-isolation isn't technically sick absence so would it stand up in employment law?
Only an employment tribunal could tell you for sure.

At the end of the day what you're asked to do while self-isolating and what you're allowed to do on annual leave at the moment aren't that different so would I start a fight over it? No.

Scenario: Youve planned to do some job around the home whilst on annual leave ie clean out the gutter, paint the front door etc...
But due to Covid self isolation,this is not an option, your plans are quashed and you are stuck inside.

Seems unfair to me.

It wouldn't surprise me that Royal Mail are getting compensated for sick absence due to Covid and self isolation from the Government which management are keeping quiet about it.

How did they contact you?
If it was through track and trace you could ask the chairman CEO of royal mail why his leadership was so s**t most of the UK have had the virus after the actions he presided over while in charge of the test and trace app? !!
