I've found something really telling looking at the file info for the PowerPoint file for the "Implementing Changes To Delivery" document. I've attached a photo of the info screen. To confirm the suspicion that this document was compiled some time ago and not because of the coronavirus emergency, you will note that the document was first created on 28 January 2020 and last modified on 27 April 2020 (at 1710). Also, the file title is "IA Contingency Arrangements Update 28th January 2020"
So, it looks like it was originally prepared as a plan to deal with Industrial Action (I'm guessing IA is an abbreviation for Industrial Action), but that the document has been amended recently to include reference to coronavirus. There was no coronavirus emergency in the UK at the end of January and the country was preoccupied with Brexit at the end of the month and "bung a bob for Big Ben Brexit bongs" at the time!

On the presumption this is legit, surely this info is massive ammo for the CWU, just for getting the public on-side at the very least.
We tried it yesterday. Just packets. I was finished by 10am. Was told when I got back I had to throw my Monday’s mail into fitting but it hasn’t arrived so I went home. Monday will be fairly bad but I work to my time and make sure I have my lunch so it won’t trouble me that much. Iv already told them if I turn up in the morning and nobody is keeping to the 2 metre rule I will sit in canteen until they do. Either way I’m not going over my time.
As for the Saturdays and choosing who has to stay at home I’m not fussed either way. Every day is a Saturday atm. Kids are at home. Football ain’t on.
Hopefully the Covid 19 restrictions will lift soon and we will see Royal Mails true intentions.
I am on long weekend, so missed all the fun and games from yesterday. My Postie (Not my office) was out delivering mail and packets yesterday, said it was one of the walks that failed on Friday and management wanted it cleared.
Our manager asked those of us who finished early on Saturday to carry the time over to cover the Monday work load which could take us over our usual finish time. Is this a reasonable request?

I thought time couldn't be carried over from one week to the next, someone on here should know more than me about this though.

I would speak to your Union rep about this but I'm 99% sure this is bullshit. They can't bank your hours from 1 day to the next. It's not your fault that they're incapable of controlling workload/resourcing.
Thanks guys, not sure we'll get anywhere with our rep, I heard him say to one of our 3 day job share contracts that they should compromise and swap their working day or bank it to work another day because they wouldn't be needed next Saturday. Some kind of guilt trip being put on them.
