Shouldn't managers be suspending people who don't keep a 2 meter distance?

They handed the workforce like a sacrificial lamb to Rico stating we are an emergency service.
CWU got it wrong
We are nothing like the NHS ,Police, Firefighters
We just deliver mostly non essential consumables and maybe the odd important item

Totally agree with you, we are not and should never have been put in that position of being seen as an emergency service. I think its rather insulting to the actual emergency services many who have trained for years to have us compared to them, we deliver letters and parcels and all the other rubbish of Ebay people buy, we don't save lives. This is now so damaging the way we have been treated by royal mail , its unforgivable.

The CWU are too slow with their demands ,unfortunately I feel until there are mass infections in DOs& MCs ,I can’t see Royal Mail budging.
Business as normal

Just got home decided to read latest courier that had arrived today....your health is the most important thing to us yet you are expected to deliver to every door coronavirus/sorry Boris's pointless letter next week and the community needs to see us about delivering there goods to keep them sane whilst we the management work from home. Apparently we will be perfectly fine if we wash our hands everyone is staying two metres away--yet nearly every photo in the courier shows everyone working on top of each other within the two metre zone old Rico shaking hands I bet he stopped doing that and the women's Day conference everyone shoulder to shoulder in the room!
This is somewhat a stupid oversight sending this out today showing that no-one is self distancing and completely shows that the workplace is unsafe and not following the apparent guidelines....DUH! Plus Guys & Girls remember those blue gloves are doing nothing if you keep eating your lunch going to the toilet having a fag using your phone messing with your mask as you are cross contaminating everything....they aren't invinciblity sheilds...just wash your hands....and keep them off yet face if you can.....in all honesty maybe we need to start wearing masks as we are on top of each other in the office take them off when we exit.
No doubt it will hit the fan soon protect yourself the best you can RM won't do it if you are vunerable or have contact/live with someone in this bracket you need to use the sick policy to your advantage and isolate..Good Luck

they keep on about global warming re-cycling, and doing their bit for the environment to help but they still print 150000 copies of that shite every month. why don't they go paperless?.....because they know the readership will drop to practically zero, and their jobs will be gone.

I would expect our union rep to get straight on this, but he went on the sick the moment Boris said you need to stay at home. So what would our office do, just walk out if the social distancing is not being observed?

We are in same boat, rep at home because self isolating. No one is staying 2m away from one another, people going out on delivery bringing vans back then someone else is jumping straight in them, no one wearing gloves, haven't see anyone using sanitizer (if there is any) or regularly washing hands. My first day back after 2 weeks, questioned a couple people why they were working in this way and got looked at as though I was stupid. DOM only interested in getting as much out as possible and for some reason DFS D2Ds. We've had stay ins over stuff when you look back were pretty petty but now it's peoples health at risk no one in our office seems bothered.

Was thinking of emailing the local CWU branch but then isn't there supposed to be a CWU update tomorrow following a meeting?

Absoultely digusting being forced to do D2Ds

another problem becasue half the office is off, you have to do your own walk your oversize and the walk next to yours oversize and tracks, today their was a total off 95 track parcels between the 2 walks , couldnt get near any of them, because Im being forced to do my walk every 2nd day and the other walk every second day, so your getting double mail and double packets above ur frame, how on earth are you meant to get near the oversize, its a f***ing joke and theirs no where to do a piss, anyone else having this problem?

You are not alone struggling with the above. I can confirm I have same difficulties daily with double mail and tracked to clear from second walk. To top it all off loads of d2ds still being delivered.
Yet there is no protective gear and not many people observer the 2m rule that in fact is very hard to obey as the space is limited inside the DO. Some members of public also do not help just coming flying out the door to grab their parcels.

Loads of anxiety due to working conditions and general situation.
