daveyeff wrote:we haven't done lapsing since all this started. we have duties not going out for days on end, even parts of our own duties not going out because quite simply there is just too many packets. we get told off the DOM to concentrate on 'specials' 'tracked' and large packets before small packets and letters, so in some cases whole duties of letters and small packets are left in. lapsing you say?
I know it’s crazy but we are clearing most days! Think we have had a couple of failures but we have a couple of very keen guys who are doing loads of overtime, actually doubling up! We are still lapsing which I think is wrong and we have been told that ewe have to double up packets for 2 duties and 2 lots of lapsing on Saturdays which I have said I will not do and so has 2 other guys but everyone else are saying they will probably do it. This is the problem too many people at our place being too soft and our manager raking in his bonus and Brownie points

nothing wrong with making people do lapsing if they keep showing they have time to do it. How they have time is what confuses me.

No one seems to cut off apart from 2 of us and everyone else just carries on as they are mainly part timers and too scared to say anything and get in about 1 hour early everyday!

In our office if you volunteer to do the afternoon shift to help ease the social distancing problem then you get given loads of lapsing to do because apparently you’re taking the piss by not doing any IPS!!! Unbelievable really, when you think they had a real dilemma sorting out the issue of too many people in early for it to be safe,so you’re one of the few to actually try and help out and keep everyone as safe as possible and you get that thrown at you.

Our lapsing, summer savings? starts next Monday. Apparently to make up for the light Saturday! That's banking hours though? So now we have even more doorsteps to catch the virus! No idea where the time will come from though as we are rammed every day!

That's actually part of the agreement.
Whilst the availability of resource is expected to improve USO coverage Monday to Friday, where a route is not covered on a Friday the units should endeavour to align resourcing to
provide a full USO clearance on the Saturday (All products and formats).
