Exactly pal. I sound like a right goody 2 shoes but if I’m paid till 3, I work till 3...strangely enough at this office I’ve always been paid every minute for the OT ido because I don’t ghost or leave early. I get paid for the hours I work like the majority of jobs.

And I hate seeing colleagues, especially new part timers struggle - one started with me at 1pm last week, sent to a village he’d never even stepped foot in. Frame with parcels all over, no markings on the frame on how to tie up. He didn’t even know how to get to that village, what chance has he got?! It meant I got out late but I helped him tie up and gave him a few pointers.

Sometimes feel if we stopped trying to do everything to get done early, and just gave each other a hand now and again we’d do a bit better.

Just organising all the packets into an order took over 2 hours, delivery took me 4+ hours so I finished earlier by a bit but I will have to take 3 days mail on Monday and 2 lots of d2d. (we have been delivering alternate days) Needless to say I will not be going over.

When you say you've been delivering alternate days, how many days a week are you working?

Instructed to just take parcels that wouldn't fit through letterbox plus SDs, filled newer big trolley twice to brim to get done, typically there seemed a big ramp up in number of small parcels that should fit through letterboxes left behind! Sequenced letter trays magically arrived at depot while we were out, more than normal for a Monday, hope we aren't getting more sequenced trays on Monday morning... Looks like most of next week's D2D will be going out tomorrow and it's going to be a lumpy day.

Don't forget it's no overtime Monday, lol. Nice to see how that's gonna work out. Doms around the land must be cursing upper management. Will any have the balls to tell them how it went? Doubt it.

There’s 3 of us deliver to a village and I took my delivery and half of one another. Been clearing since Covid started. Out of door at 0820 and back at 1230. Had one pizza D2D all thrown off and some manual, by the guy who stayed in.
It kind of worked but still can’t see the point, as feels like failing mail for no reason.

Monday morning you get coming through whatever sequencing you'd normally get through on a Sunday night/Monday morning

one word s**t and I cant believe how the company expect all posties to work and during this time of coronavirus , by putting more and more pressure and stress to actually change the way we all work and the piss take of all a no overtime agreement

, and I cant believe the CWU has allowed this to even continue and should have told them before any talks to remove all this and all other executive action as we all know if the company was so concerned about the staff why didn't they do this 6 weeks ago and why now ? and we still have alive I/A ballot on the table and I think most people have had enough , they are taking the piss out of the CWU and the staff

I presume they thought the way it would work is that there would be a time saving on the Saturday which would cover any going over on the Monday. It was really busy with packets and parcels plus a small amount of mail carried over from the previous day. As a result I probably went over my duty time but I'm not sure by how much. Anyway no time saving.
With the VE Day bank holiday this coming week on the Friday I foresee more problems and even more work to deal with on the Saturday. If this is due to be reviewed every two weeks I cannot see this trial continuing past May 11th.

I agree they probably thought they'd use "Swings & Roundabouts" to save Massive OT claims on Monday!

Perhaps they should have held onto Mech, IPS & Households in the mail centre until Monday?

My Unit was a Tale of two Halves.... Half the office (probably less in truth but let's not spoil the anlogy) came back before the mail had arrived Midday, and pissed of home early!

The other Half came back later and found all the mail sat there.

So we threw off all the households and the mech ready for Monday. I think most people realised they'd make a bit of time so we Fuelled up the Vans (which we'd normally save for a "Light" Tuesday), some even cleaned theirs out!

So unfortunately for RM this took most of us up to our Official Finish Times..... so there's no room to Claw Back any hours. Shame that.
