You would be driving to work anyway so you can't claim for that. If you return to the office you can claim for that but if going straight home you don't claim from end of duty to home.
Won't matter soon anyway because as soon as van share are back they will stop use of private cars again. The fact they are scrapping social distancing on buses next week makes me think vans share will be back soon

RM should of hired extra vans and done it properly, rather than putting pressure on staff to use their car or they would have to mess about dead walking.

Who's scrapping that, I can't find anything about it.

21 June yes, but not next week.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Upto 80% capacity from today not totally scrapped but you can sit next to someone facing forward. Rear facing seats still not used. It's on the bus operators websites. In London at least

Just looked on the website of the local bus operator here and it's the same so it's probably UK wide (or at least across England)

People using private cars SHOULD be current RM drivers or MUST be?

It's nothing to do with whether you drive for the business or not.

It is mate it's in the guidance.
The employee should be an existing driver within Royal Mail (and must not have been removed from driving duties).
I'm guessing to get it passed the insurance/legal people RM has to have assessed your driving...

So I'm guessing it's up to an individuals interpretation then?

No it's pretty clear to me.
Should is a verb with a few different meanings but in this case it's pretty obvious that it means obligation.
